Director - Operations - Western Union - Englewood
Job description
Right now, we are seeking a Director of Operations, based at Western Union’s global headquarters in Englewood, Colorado.
In this role, you Support/Manage the certification process for critical data elements defined. This may include supporting multiple data categories and management of the Analysts supporting each category.
In Addition, You Will
Provide business expertise in the knowledge base along with business rules and the systems that support them.
Create and monitor system and process controls, including data quality exception reports, to proactively identify the introduction of data changes or poor quality data
Clarify proper understanding, use, metadata, and requirements for new solutions, changes, or issues.
Accountable for defining and documenting data elements in Metadata Repository (MDR)
Teamwork through effective collaboration with stakeholders for all impacted data elements in scope for the business area
Organize, hold, lead and manage meetings with stakeholders across the organization
Review and approve extract sources for assigned data elements
Identify and help drive long term/strategic remediation requirements
Validate and provide business approval of tactical remediation strategies in support of data quality requirements
Interface with business, IT, Compliance, and other support staff as needed
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path issues
Track milestones and deliverables
Communicate status to management and stakeholders as necessary through summary reports, review decks, project plans, agendas, minutes, issue / risk tracking, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of Process Analysis / Process Improvement, Technology Development/Support , Risk and/or Project Management experience
Solid understanding of Data: Warehousing, Mining, Analysis, Warehouse Architecture and Designing.
Experience performing an in depth data analysis, identify and resolve any potential data issues and improving the data quality and governance.
Expertise in performing data and systems analysis in various domains.
Experience in managing and maintaining the data analysis and reporting applications and teams associated in performing the work.
Proficient in building and defining the process and its associated aspects
Highly organized and detail oriented as the role will require keeping up with the ever changing environment e.g. new and improved tools and methodology to maintain the data quality and integrity
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to understand business and technical functions, process quickly and assess impact
Strong MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
