Job description
Position Summary
Models innovation, energy, and passion in leading a team that creates and drives the global direct to consumer (DTC) IT vision and strategies in the areas of eCommerce, marketing, own retail, CRM, social, and mobile. Defines, justifies, aligns, and continually refreshes the supporting IT roadmap, and drives the timely, on budget execution of roadmap projects. Ensures the DTC ecosystem is architected to be agile, service oriented, and maintainable.


Essential Functions And Key Responsibilities
Leads an IT team to that drives the creation and continual updating of the TMaG direct to consumer application vision, strategies, and supporting IT architecture
Maintains current knowledge of pertinent and innovative technologies within the DTC domain and shares with supported business stakeholders and IT peers
Enables, maintains, and evolves omni channel capabilities
Coaches, mentors, and develops a team of IT professionals
Supports the business / IT alignment processes and maintains strong relationships with business stakeholders and IT peers
Manages and controls demand management within the global direct to consumer channel
Manages and maintains productive relationships with key business contacts and IT personnel in TMaG entities in Europe, Canada, and Japan
Maintains strong relationships with adidas HQ direct to consumer peers and stays current on all HQ DTC strategies and roadmaps. Leverages adidas HQ knowledge and solutions wherever possible
Manages key IT vendor relationships and regularly assesses performance of vendors
Develops, implements, and evolves application support processes and models, including offshore development and support models
Develops, implements, and evolves project management standards and processes
Develops, implements, and evolves systems analysis standards and processes
Manages costs and cost drivers within area of responsibility and contributes to formation of annual budget
Facilitates the reengineering and optimization of DTC business processes
Directs large IT application implementations
Oversees creation and architecture of custom application solutions and insures all solutions are architected for high quality, low maintenance costs, and are future proofed by being agile and service oriented
Facilitates the development of business cases justifying new investments
Facilitates make vs. buy software decisions
Facilitates software selection processes
Facilitates application decommissioning activities
Communicates and coordinates demands for infrastructure and development team resources
Regularly communicates statuses of key projects
Identifies staffing needs, recruits and manages key positions within the IT Application team, both permanent and contract
Contributes to the evolution of the overall IT department through improvement and efficiency programs, new processes, and change

Education, Training, Professional Certification And Work Experience
B.S. degree in applicable field required
10+ years of related technical and management experience
Project management certification preferred
ITIL certification or strong awareness of ITIL principles preferred
