Director - Brand Design - PepsiCo - Plano


Job description

PepsiCo has strong partnerships with our national and local retail customers across NA. We partner closely to create meaningful retail experiences for consumers.
The Brand Design Director of Retail Innovation is a senior design leader responsible for the creation, management, and execution of all aspects of creative development for projects with PepsiCo's retail customer partners. Responsibilities include identifying new strategic retail opportunities, prioritizing and clearly defining project parameters, strategic concept development, and creative leadership.
Successful candidates will demonstrate superior ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams, and champion and drive, from ideation to execution quality design practice across physical, graphic and interaction-design challenges, leading internal design staff and external partners.

Accountabilities:

Deliver completed Retail-focused POS campaign solutions, leading concept development, defining strategic parameters and meeting creative objectives as well as all timeline and budget constraints.
Establish clear communication, status, and project workflow with North American customer leadership on day-to day design center priorities
Regularly reviews the status of projects with Brand Design lead and appropriate leadership to verify that company and division expectations are met.
Lead/manage multidisciplinary teams within the design center to successful outcome on all priority customer retail projects
Takes a strong self-initiated leadership role in identifying/driving PepsiCo in-store retail communications opportunities that engage the consumer, generate critical business value for PepsiCo, creating new and stronger PepsiCo customer and consumer brand experiences

Qualifications:

10+ years of retail, merchandising communications design experience (preferably in a global and matrixed environment or working as consultant from a design firm for such organizations)
BFA or BS required in graphic design or advertising communications
Proven understanding of retail needs with a focus on product presentation and merchandising.
Possess excellent written, oral and visual communication skills.
Extraordinary design taste and skill
Strong conceptual thinking and design critiquing skills.
Highly developed attention to detail.
Ability to multitask is paramount. Excellent time management.
Through past experience and case studies, shows strong ability to create and enhance consumer experience at all points of consumer brand interaction
Experienced user Adobe Creative Suite
Strong typography skills an absolute must
Must be willing and able to travel 20% of the time
