Director - Brand Content - PayPal - San Jose

Job description
We’re looking for an experienced storyteller to lead our global brand content team, managing a set of key content experiences and evolving our voice & tone across the brand. You will develop an editorial approach for internal and external content, and head up the creation of a newsroom-style method to develop highly topical and real-time content.Your team will support content efforts across Marketing, Brand, PR, Comms, and Social.
You will also be a thought leader across the business to infuse our brand voice into every customer touch point. By combining your strategic vision, strong marketing insights, creativity, and understanding of the PayPal feature set, you’ll invent world-class storytelling ideas and initiatives that push the PayPal brand forward.Job ResponsibilitiesConceptualize and share new ideas for evolving our voice & toneDevelop a newsroom-style method of content creationOwn the process to develop brand content through to final executionInspire and coach writers throughout the companyWork closely with teams across the company (like Legal) to faithfully materialize your visionGather insights, and evolve our brand voice and content creationOwn the documentation and publishing of our voice and tone guidelinesManage a team of senior writers

Job Requirements

A liberal arts background with evidence of breadth and performance
At least 15 years of professional writing experience
At least 5 years as people manager
Examples of evolving the voice of a global brand (at scale)
Fun, energetic and collaborative personality
The qualifications must be objective, non-comparative, relevant to performance of the particular position, and enable the accomplishment of business-related goals.
