Job description
The Software Defined Infrastructure (SDI) Team at Intel is hard at work innovating the future of Cloud computing. As the Director of Analytics and Telemetry, you will lead the team responsible for exposing performance metrics and identifying actionable insights necessary to optimize data center operations. Your team will also be responsible for the development of open source solutions that will transform this industry.
Responsibilities Include
Build and manage a highly-skilled technical team responsible for architecting data center analytics solutions
Partner closely with product teams and engineers to define Intel's strategy for data center operations, cost and utilization improvements
Develop open source analytical solutions to optimize infrastructure operations
Use data to identify and recommend performance acceleration opportunities
Work with industry leaders on POCs and drive product features into their roadmaps
Manage the compilation and analysis of both structured and unstructured data, and report out insights that identify leading indicators of business performance
Translate detailed analysis into actionable marketing and product opportunities and determining applicability of analysis for the business
Present findings to internal teams and senior executives that drive action, improvements, and accountability
Stay relevant on analytics and telemetry best practices and trends to drive continuous improvement of our marketing programs

The ideal candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Additional qualifications listed below will be plus factors.
BA/BS In Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, Decision Science, Operational Research, Predictive Analytics Or Other Quantitative Field With 10 Or More Years Of Overall Industry Experience And
At least 7 years of experience building and managing effective teams in relevant industry
Demonstrable experience with analytics, event processing, stream processing, and distributed systems
Minimum of 7 years of experience in analytics, including extensive experience with predictive modeling, media mix modeling and other statistical software packages such as R, SAS, SPLUS, Eviews and statistical algorithms typically used in Marketing Analytics. Experience with econometric time series analysis and/or other marketing mix modeling approaches preferred.
Ability to define roadmaps and influence product strategies and lead agile development teams
Experience and interest in data visualization, reporting, and tool building in order to scale operations and increase visibility to the data/results
Understanding of enterprise-level web analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics Premium, Web Trends, etc.)
Strong technical, analytical skillset (deep SAS, SQL, predictive modeling skills required)
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Must be willing and able to travel (approx. 30%) to domestic and international sites.
Additional Qualifications
Understanding of throughput, latency, memory and CPU utilization in a distributed system architecture environment
Experience with lead/performance tools and APM software like AppDynamics or New Relic
Practical experience with large scale systems data collection, analysis or reporting
Demonstrable knowledge of statistics and machine learning techniques
