Director - Integrated Quantitative Sciences - Novartis - East Hanover


Job Description:

Leads the Business Office team by driving strategic, analytical, and tactical, support, of IIS Strategic Alliances, to insure high quality, regulatory compliant and efficient operations including financial and contract management, risk management, service level management, planning/demand forecasting, alliance governance operations, communications, supplier relationship management, continuous improvement and innovation. Build and sustain a high performing team within the Business Office function.
Lead group objective setting and assessment; career development talent assessment activities Coaches and mentors team to develop talent and achieve consistent high performance. Lead group Strategic planning, succession planning. Financial and Contract Management: Leads the financial analysis of strategic alliance operations. Working with Finance and is accountable to develop annual strategic alliance budget, update latest estimates and track spending against the forecast. Develops and publishes monthly operations reports to track financial indicators. Reconciles invoices and payments against contract terms and partner delivery. Investigates and resolves discrepancies in deliverables, invoices and payments. Portfolio Management/Forecasting/Demand Management: Defines and implements demand forecasting procedures. Maintains monthly, quarterly, and annual rolling forecasts of demand with approval from IIS Group Heads. Implements study allocation methodology with Alliance Partner. Assesses the accuracy of forecasting methods and implements improvements.

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum requirements:

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Research, or related Quantitative or Scientific Field required. 12 years of experience of diverse professional experience encompassing Program or Project management for drug development, clinical data management, CRO / BPO vendor management preferred. 5 years people management experience leading and developing functional groups or project teams required. Excellent understanding of clinical development, quality and regulatory standards and policies relevant to Data Management, Biostatistics, Statistical Reporting and Medical Writing (e.g. GCP, ICH). Demonstrated experience executing alliance vendor relationship management to provide long-term direction and short-term decision making to develop and advance vendor relationships and performance. Successful experience working in cross-functional teams and management of projects Experienced in leading major non-clinical initiatives related to clinical trial planning, execution, analysis and reporting. High degree of results-orientation and ability to execute Proven ability to organize.
