Director - Online Community - Pegasystems - Cambridge
Job description
The Position:
Responsible for driving the overall strategy to increase membership, engagement, and value for the Pega Developer Network (PDN), the Director of Community will act as a brand ambassador by exuding passion in everything that they do. This position will work on all facets of the PDN community to drive engagement, including organizing events, developing compelling content, and gathering and analyzing metrics to track and report progress to key stakeholders. This role will work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic environment.
In this role, you will:
Drive the marketing strategy to recruit new members
Help educate new members ensuring a positive onboarding experience
Increase engagement level by researching and implementing new initiatives that supply a continued stream of enablement content
Inspire and mobilize across the enterprise to secure various content creators
Create a community atmosphere that allow members to feel comfortable and encouraged to post content
Develop content such as newsletters, blogs, forum posts, help documents, etc.
Moderate the community resolving issues, enforcing rules, addressing inappropriate content, and establishing general guidelines and behaviors
Establish and facilitate private and public groups geared towards connecting members
Evaluate impact of new programs and overall progress by defining and capturing metrics and reporting to key stakeholders

Desired Skills and Experience
The Person:
An avid brand ambassador; this individual will embody the PDN brand and has a presence, both offline and online, that will motivate members to join and engage. They are a self-starter, digital-savvy person with experience owning community communications, content creation, events, and analytics, among many other things.
The ideal candidate for this position will have significant experience in web 2.0 communications, possess a passion for the software industry, and have superb writing and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications will include:
Experience in journalism or other comparable writing background
Social media experience such as Twitter and Facebook for business
Demonstrated experience in engaging digital communities and understanding of current community functionality and trends
Understanding what’s possible on various technology platforms and the ability to educate and integrate the needs of stakeholders, creative teams and developers
Proficiency with technology-based tools and processes
Business intelligence and awareness
Ability to understand, identify and resolve conflicts as necessary
