Director - IT Compliance - MoneyGram - San Francisco


We are currently hiring for a Director of IT Compliance, Fraud & Legal Enterprise Solutions. This role will provide senior leadership for the solution development, design, and delivery of various Compliance, Fraud and Legal programs within MoneyGram’s Enterprise Solutions team.

The position will serve as the primary contact for internal business and technology partners, and provide work direction for enterprise matrix IT project resources. The role will actively manage and set approach for project execution and change management activities including program structure, communication, technical solution, operational processes and be responsible to ensure project deliverables are approved by key stakeholders.
They will own program relationship with executive management including keeping them apprised of program status, milestones, and metrics; securing buy-in, approval, and support as necessary.

Key Responsibilities Include
In this role the Director will provide senior leadership across the three solution verticals - Regulatory Control Systems, Compliance & Legal Systems and Reporting Risk Models & Analytics, within IT Compliance, Fraud and Legal portfolio.
Act as the primary owner for strategic planning, budget and portfolio roadmap. Provide oversight for the delivery of programs within the portfolio.
Actively manage and set approach for project execution, requirements and change management activities including program structure, communication, technical solution, operational processes.
Responsible to ensure project deliverables are approved by key stakeholders and align to product and corporate strategies.
Own program relationship with executive management including keeping them apprised of program status, milestones, and metrics; securing buy-in, approval, and support as necessary.
Analyze and communicate project or program status for budget and schedule variance. This includes but is not limited to leadership of Project Steering Committee meeting with executive team members and the generation and publication of Project Status Reports.
Engage with key MoneyGram partners to define and deliver product solutions including presentations, solution development, and as applicable relationship management. Actively manage relationship to ensure proper execution against contractual statement of work documentation and or contractual agreements.
Actively manage and lead project teams to execute projects, demonstrating sound judgment, critical thinking skills, leadership and a sense of urgency.
Clearly communicate expectations and deliverables and hold people accountable for meeting project commitments. Drive to decisions effectively with cross technical and business decision makers in a positive, team building manner.
Manage and mentor direct reporting staff to lead and drive execution of respective responsibilities including but not limited to business analysts, product development managers, and project management staff.
Performs budget management duties, including budget forecasting, adhering to departmental budget, and budget variance reporting.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience
Minimum Required:
BA degree in computer science or business, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. MBA (preferred)
Minimum 10+ years broad solution design and development in the Financial Services industry, with prior experience in Compliance and Legal business processes (preferred), system development, product management or product development experience working closely with or in a technology department.
Minimum 7+ years of progressive management experience in leading teams, executing a variety of project types such as application development, off-the-shelf integration, technical infrastructure, business and operational development. Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Ability to apply alternate development and project methodologies as appropriate. Demonstrated ability to manage large complex cross-functional and cross-organizational projects, or multiple medium projects concurrently.
Previous experience writing building roadmap, business case, requirements and functional specifications and driving the approval process for the requirements. Able to translate business requirements into technical requirements, evaluate and actively facilitate solution alternatives with the application development teams.
Previous experience working with Procurement and/or experience with Request for Proposals (RFP)
Experience working with different development methodologies such as Agile, Iterative or Waterfall
Experience generating new ideas and seeing ideas from conception through product development to market launch and acceptance
Previous experience managing relationships with external vendors/service providers
Experience and demonstrated effectiveness participating in presentations to various business audiences, from senior level management to external clients and business partners. Track record of delivering clear, prepared and persuasive business presentations
Demonstrated ability to effectively influence decisions of all levels of technology and business organizations, up to and including the most senior level management. Able to effectively assert point of view without alienating others. Able to manage expectations and negotiate deliverables with senior leadership.
Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships and on-going dialogue with others to understand business strategies and goals, and to effectively resolve program issues and problems.
Expert user in PM tools such as MS Project or other similar tool, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficient in Work-Based Scheduling.
Travel:
Up to 25% Domestic
