MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide strategic analytics technology direction and project guidance to the team and drive the following:
Identify, select, and deploy analytics technology platforms to capture, integrate, and analyze data from many sources
Drive data modeling platforms and tools selection, implementation, and effective use of tools to maximize revenue through analytics

Lead the use of technologies to enable data-driven decisions applied to all guest interactions, pricing and product decisions
Derive insights from data mining, modeling, and applied analytics on top of large data sets
Provide thought leadership, demonstrate and communicate new capabilities and insights throughout the organization
Direct analytics program delivery teams in partnership with technology and business leaders. Responsible for overall program leadership of multiple concurrent projects.
Oversee the management of cross-functional projects and teams by setting strategy, design and delivery plan goals in alignment with Universal Park’s strategic priorities. Ensure that the new solutions are timely, successful, and meet or exceed the client group’s expectations.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with client group senior leadership. Ensure direct reports are effective in their communications with client groups, building strong working relationships
Collaborate with technology leaders within Parks and NBCU to ensure the program is taking advantage of appropriate infrastructure, application, data frameworks, and remains in compliance with established security practices.
Provide direction to leadership in identifying new concepts, ideas, techniques, best practices and technologies that can be leveraged to create unique and effective solutions.
Direct vendor selection and management including oversight of drafting SOW’s, RFP’s, vendor evaluation, budgeting, monitoring progress through to implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years combined leadership and hand-on experience with analytics technologies and understanding of systems and processes associated with customer data
5+ years of analytics technology delivery leadership and demonstrated ability to define the strategy, to identify and implement analytics technologies in support of large business initiatives
Experience in design of complex analytics technologies, analytics technology oversight, and leading a team of analysts
Experience in a business intelligence (BI) leadership role with strong understanding of concepts such as data analysis, data mining, statistical analysis
Experience implementing solutions using advanced analytics tools and applications across digital channels
Experience working in Big Data environments. Knowledge of Map/Reduce framework (Hadoop/Hive, etc.) is a plus.
Experience in large scale technology project delivery and product development, integration of new technologies and solutions, including the creation and management of associated budgets
Working experience with modern agile development methodologies and practices
Proven successful experience in vendor selection and management for a wide range of technology solutions, including drafting SOW’s, RFP’s, and vendor evaluation, budgeting, and monitoring progress through to implementation.
Demonstrated experience in areas of general management, specifically around team member development, leadership skills, organizational skills, and managing/setting priorities in a fast paced environment
Strong interpersonal management skills, with a demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working through complex personality, program, and business interest related issues
Well developed, executive-level critical thinking and communication skills (written and oral)
Contract negotiation skills
ResponsibilitiesThe Director, Analytics Technology will be responsible for developing the analytics technology vision and strategic roadmap through business and technology partnerships. He/she will also be responsible for identifying, implementing, and supporting technologies that deliver the analytics and decision science capabilities to the UPR organization. The Director will collaborate with business partners in defining and prioritizing appropriate projects, selecting vendors and products, overseeing the technology deployment and evolution, and delivering capabilities in an iterative fashion. The Director will be a technology evangelist and collaborate with business partners in identifying appropriate use cases where analytics technology capabilities can be applied to optimize business results. The Director will lead a group of technologists in building analytics platforms, supporting business initiatives to capture, and analyze data to drive enhanced business results. As a leader of this team, he/she will also
Develop and communicate goals, strategies, tactics, project plans, timelines, and key performance metrics to reach goals.
Create quantitative analyses and mine data to derive actionable insights
Provide decision-making support for strategic initiatives around pricing, packaging, promotion, and personalization
Determine when and how to use quantitative research tools and models and apply those tools and models to address business problems.
This role partners with Universal Parks technology groups, Universal Parks business groups, third party software and solution providers, and NBCU resources to ensure the strategic analytics principles are followed in the delivery of solutions. The role will be responsible for identifying and placing the appropriate resources in support of strategic initiatives.

As programs or projects advance through the project lifecycle, the Director will work with senior leaders within the technology organization and with external technology partners to ensure appropriate checkpoints are followed to ensure a quality products are delivered.

This role will be responsible for varying aspects of vendor management to include drafting or approving SOW’s, RFP’s, vendor evaluation, budgeting, monitoring progress through implementation.
