Director - Planning & Analysis - Prudential - Newark


Job description
This Director position will also be responsible for:

1. Leading the existing project and ongoing process for Investment forecasting

2. Act as Liaison between Japan Project Team and Domestic Project Team

3. Partnering with Japan Operations, ALM Finance and Systems to implement the investment planning model for in our Japanese Operations (Gibraltar and POJ). The following are the key areas of focus within in the planning process:


· Reinvestment

· Asset Management Assumptions

· Cash Flow Assumptions By Type

· Ancillary Income (fees and expenses)

· Attribution and Reporting

· Calendaring

4. Developing and testing the related reporting requirements for each of the Japan Portfolios

5. Developing and modifying the reinvestment logic associated with invested assets and derivatives instrument

6. Collaborating with Operations and systems to ensure currency translations are developed in accordance with requirements (ensuring translation using the following rates: Spot, Average and Plan FX rates)

7. Partnering with key stakeholders to address internal and regulatory driven requests of the framework.

8. Working with key stakeholders to support the creation of a Reporting warehouse to track model projections and outputs (assisting with requirements and testing)

9. Hands on research and troubleshooting of QRM, potentially covering multiple work streams (e.g. Valuation, Derivatives)

10. Providing project status and documentation over the duration of the project.

11. Learning the QRM application and functionality



The successful candidate should demonstrate knowledge of finance, economics and accounting as it relates to investment securities. The ideal candidate will seek to make continual improvements in the team's analysis and reporting processes.

Desired Skills and Experience
· A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, major in finance, accounting economics preferred

· MBA, CFA or CPA designation desired

· Experience in a financial analysis/reporting role

· Understanding of investment securities, particularly fixed income instruments

· Strong analytical and communication skills

· Organized, self motivated/starter

· Experience with Oracle general ledger, iRisk and/or Clarity forecasting systems is a plus

· Overtime is required during peak periods
