Director - Marketing - Citrix - Santa Clara


Position Summary

Citrix is looking for a driven, seasoned, hands-on, creative leader to lead our creative services team; the position is based in Santa Clara, CA with part of the team based in Ft Lauderdale, FL. The Creative Director is responsible for all design aspects of the Citrix brand. The director leads an in-house agency to serve corporate and revenue-producing goals. The position requires a mix of individual creativity and design thinking, along with a strong operations focus. This position reports to the VP of Corporate Marketing.



She/he Will Be The Primary Leader And Owner Of
Corporate creative strategy and creative execution
Brand expression and identity
Event, video and collateral creative design and production
Agency selection/engagement/reviews/management/performance

Responsibilities Include
Influence the timely development of design systems, campaigns, plans, and projects to assure brand experience goals and business strategy are achieved
Manage the Citrix brand style guide. Develop consistent design approach across all media, including web, print, sales enablement, events.
Oversee creative consultations with key stakeholders to ensure the application of appropriate creative strategies, adequacy/accuracy of input, and necessary reviews to achieve delivery that meets/exceeds expectations
Ensure brand alignment to standards and guidelines; develop, evolve and promote brand standards. Maintain governance of brand standards through training, design review, and critique
Maintain external relationships to ensure awareness of industry best practices in design, design thinking and art/style leadership, and vendor selection
Manage, mentor, and inspire creative resources

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
10+ years of professional experience in an agency and/or in-house creative role
5+ years of professional experience managing a team of designers or contractors
Bachelor's degree or higher in Graphic Design or related field
Agency selection and management; remote team management
Ability to lead projects from concept to completion
Experience in web, event and video design
Ability to make evaluative judgments, convey and rationalize design decisions
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and present creative ideas effectively with passion and integrity
Clear understanding of graphic design rules — and when to break them
Ability to work under pressure on multiple, time-sensitive projects
Aware of industry best practices and emerging design trends
Team player who knows how to work hard and have fun
Functional / Technical Requirements
Expertise in Adobe tools (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
