Project Director - Info Systems - Prudential - Shelton


Job description
Responsibilities:
The senior IT project manager will be responsible for leading and managing the deliverables and team within Prudential Annuities IT (AIT) to deliver technology solutions for the Annuity business. They will coordinate and facilitate all activity within AIT and work in conjunction with the Business PMO to ensure successful delivery of their projects or programs.

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
· At least 10 solid and concurrent years as a senior IT project manager/program manager leading major strategic technology projects/programs (PMI, SDLC, and Infrastructure Lifecycle) within financial services industry. Annuities background is ideal but not required.
· Passion for leading and managing application development projects and/or business unit Infrastructure change projects and programs – career minded and oriented to this role

· Strong track record of successfully delivering application development projects and/or business unit Infrastructure change projects and programs from start to finish as the lead IT Project Manager
· Ability to think strategically and tactically in regards to project planning, scoping, budgeting, scheduling and quality deliverables, working in partnership with the AIT, Business, PMO, Portfolio Manager and Enterprise Infrastructure
· Responsible for leading projects with budgets of at least $1M in spend and with duration of at least 12+ months
· Has worked within an IT PMO – has understanding and appreciation of processes/procedures and governance required to lead large projects and programs
· Leading large teams in a matrix environment consisting of various types of roles and skill sets
· Ability to facilitate and coordinate meetings in an effective manner
· Ability to deal with tight timelines, limited resources and still deliver on time and within scope
· Ability to lead several projects at once that have a common strategic goal
· Formal training in project management methodology is required
· PMI PMP Certified

· Ability to articulate issues/challenges/risks in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels
· Flexible leadership style
· Extremely detail oriented
· Excellent Communicator (verbal, written, presentation) skills; ability to summarize and effectively communicate and present to senior leaders
· Persistence, dedication and ability to lead multiple projects at the same time
· Excellent people and relationship skills – gains trust
· Strong influence and team building skills in a matrix environment
