Director - In Building Services - Samsung Electronics - Chicago


Job description
Position Summary:
Responsible for identifying opportunities and managing the development of In Building Solutions within a defined market. Manage cross-functional business development teams to ensure successful program delivery. Responsibilities also include the establishment of effective working relationships with STA account teams, marketing, field sales team, and finance in order to drive program completion and launch schedule. Identify and develop new business opportunities and breakthrough growth for North American market.
Highly skilled in the area of In Building Solutions including technical options and business environment. Responsible to building end to end partnerships with service providers (Union and Non Union) that can help Samsung provide value added services to our customers at a profit. The primary function is to help drive demand for In Building Solutions.


Common Essentials/Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides strategic direction for the In Building Services function at STA. Develops, manages and regularly measures progress against account strategies and plans.
Develops new strategies and customer opportunities and engagement plans.
Reports key activities regarding sales, competitive position and customer issues.
Develops Customer relationship at all levels of the customer organization.
Provides excellent customer service, develops positive customer sales relationships.
Takes proactive initiative to improve customer satisfaction.
Identifies new sales opportunities/channels and openly shares business development information and opportunities with other account team members.
Responsible for solving complex technical problems and responds to complex requests from internal and external customers.
Makes decisions within guidelines and policies.
Is accountable for the contributions of the project team.
Present formulated plan to lead expansion into other markets.

Desired Skills and Experience

Background/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of directly related experience is required. In depth knowledge of wireless infrastructure equipment and standards
Ability to quickly identify new opportunities within In Building Solutions.
Self-directed contributor with ability to lead other resources in a matrix organization.
Must be able to write, read, analyze,interpret, present and explain technical product and development materials.
Must have experience with Microsoft Standard Office Suite and extensive use of presentation software within a Windows/NT LAN/WAN network environment.

Necessary Skills and Attributes:
Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within customer’s organization and also within Samsung’s organization.
The ability to negotiate with and convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including customer leadership team, VP’s, directors & managers,staff, and vendors with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical and project
recommendations.
The ability to independently plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects, sales and simultaneous performance objectives.
Ability to make professional sales and business presentations in writing, through email, reports, or orally, including complex business and technical matters to an audience of high technical skills, management and operational experience.
The ability to develop specific sales and business plans and metrics, to clearly define results to be achieved, to make decisions, to give direction, and to measure individual/team performance and sales results.
Excellent Planning, Interpersonal, Communication, and Negotiation skills.
Skilled in developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company.
Ability to work in a team environment, in order to achieve personal and team project milestones and to complete assignments within established time frames.
The ability to accept tasks and resolve problems/situations that differ, requiring creativity to search for optimal solutions,when only broad and general guidelines exist for solving problems.
Ability to negotiate on behalf of function to come to agreement by managing communications through discussions and compromise; issues are long-term operational, tactical and strategic in nature.
