Director - Architecture - Managed Accounts - Fidelity Investments - Smithfield
Job description
Strategic Investment Products and Data (SIPD) is a shared technology services organization within Fidelity Professional Services Group (PSG). SIPD's major product offerings include technology solutions for Managed Accounts, Guidance and Planning Tools, and Data Delivery.
The Managed Accounts Director of Architecture creates and maintains architecture plans and specifications for SIPD applications supporting the Fidelity Managed Account Product Line, and guides project and program level decisions to ensure alignment with the SIPD and Fidelity enterprise architecture. The Director of Architecture will be located in Smithfield, RI or Merrimack, NH with periodic travel to Boston and North Carolina
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and assess technical solutions for the Managed Account products
Identify approaches, tools, techniques, and technologies to meet business requirements
Recommend solutions that address functional and quality goals of systems
Assess and explain the present and future rationale of architecture decisions
Mediate opposing viewpoints and negotiate equitable solutions to ensure successful and stable outcomes for the Managed Accounts product space
Develop multi-year technical roadmap and blueprints for the Managed Account product
Establish, implement, and enforce appropriate architecture standards in the creation and implementation of the technical solution
Ensure use of code quality tools (i.e.: Sonar) and best practices
Support and communicate relevant IT Governance polices, procedures and processes (i.e. ARB, Architecture Review Board).
Responsible for technical implementation of architectural components
Provide technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives
Desired Skills and Experience
Education and Experience
10+ Years of experience in Information Technology
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
10+ years of JAVA/J2EE experience
Extensive experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, MODAF, and ZACHMAN
10+ years of experience with WATERFALL and AGILE development methodologies
Skills and Knowledge
Proven delivery in application design and development of multi-tiered enterprise solutions
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing, presentations, and the ability to clearly receive and convey information to a broad array of technical and non-technical people
Strong influencing and collaboration skills
Strong leadership qualities
Expert understanding of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning
Understanding of Financial Services Industry and Financial Planning is preferred
