Direct the University's Office of Institutional Research (IR), working with the VP and the AVP to respond to adhoc analysis and data needs of the University; using analytical skills in continually evaluating data integrity; supervising staff; prioritizing work and conducting research on areas of institutional priority. Communicate information gathered and produced by the Office of Institutional Research with the wider community in both written and oral formats, making presentations as appropriate. Work with colleagues at all levels across the University, including central administration, schools, and NYU IT. Lead University coordination of IR professionals to ensure common practice and data integrity across all areas of the University.

Qualifications:

Required Education:
Masters degree in policy, economics, business, education, sociology, or statistics .

Preferred Education:
Doctoral degree in higher education, statistics, policy, economics, business or sociology.

Required Experience:
10+ years experience in research design, data collection and retrieval, statistical analysis and reporting, and staff supervision, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
Related experience in higher education, and particularly in institutional research.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to present complex information to senior administrators in a non-technical manner. Proficiency with desktop office suite, statistical software packages, and ad hoc reporting tools.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Expert proficiency Microsoft Excel andAccess,SPSS; Brio; and SQL. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Powerpoint for effective messaging of reports and presentations.
