Director - Sales Education and Training - Voya Financial - Minneapolis


Job description
The Director of Sales Education & Training is responsible for creating and delivering internal and external sales training, education and competitive product positioning for the Voya Financial Individual Life division. This person is also responsible for training on technical sales concepts and the use of technological sales tools.

The Director of Sales Education & Training will be responsible for determining the educational and training needs of the organization to support the sale of individual life insurance products. They will be responsible for developing the strategic education plan and the supporting training programs for both internal and external customers. They will also work with Sales Management, Marketing Support and other internal customers to develop and support the focus on current sales concepts and products, and organize and deliver the training requirements needed to support the current sales focus. In order to do this they will be responsible for the design, development and coordination of training courses and academies (in person and virtual) and the development and delivery of a system to analyze the effectiveness of training sessions.
They will be responsible for the delivery and coordination of training offerings across the enterprise relating to life insurance and serve as a subject matter expert for the development of sales concepts and approaches. They will participate in projects requiring a high level of technical knowledge and expertise and will be the “go to” person for specialized sales expertise and product offerings.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and CFP, CLU or ChFC (or equivalent life insurance industry designation); 10+ years experience in life insurance sales (or related field experience); exceptional verbal and presentation skills; strong computer, spreadsheet, power point and illustration system skills; excellent organizational, project management, and leadership skills; exceptional strategic, critical thinking, and problem solving skills; and experience relating to and working with senior management and outside customers.

Desired Skills and Experience
Our ideal candidate is going to be a registered rep (series 6 or 7) who has been successful in both the Life Insurance sales and training fields. This individual should have previously been tasked with designing, creating and presenting curriculum to organizational leaders, distributors and customers within the life insurance industry. In addition we'll need this individual to have a strong track record of selling life insurance products, so a background from within the industry is required. 40-50% of this role will be spent traveling across the country and require a great deal of time management. When not traveling this position will be working out of our Downtown Minneapolis office. We will require a Bachelor’s Degree and industry specific certifications.
