Job description
Colibrium is hiring a Director, Product Development to join our team and drive the planning and execution of product development. Great opportunity to direct a small team and have a direct impact on the success of our product.
The Director, Product Development is primarily responsible for the strategy and execution of Colibrium product initiatives. Working closely with the executive management team, the Director, Product Development will develop the overall strategic vision and direction of Colibrium’s solution offerings and ensure consistency and compatibility with Colibrium’s sales, marketing, and delivery methodology. The Director, Product Development reports to the COO and manages a team of reports responsible for the functional and technical definition and development of the product.

The Director, Product Development will define, prioritize, plan and manage initiatives necessary to support product release schedules through the coordination and management of direct and matrix resources from the Product Development and Delivery teams. This position is also responsible for technology and project planning, status reporting, effort estimation, budget and resource planning. The Product Manager is also involved in partner relationships and maximizing those for product delivery.
The Director, Product Development will contribute to the company intellectual capital and internal improvement initiatives by analyzing, improving and enforcing best practices, methodologies, processes and solution approaches. They may be called on to assist with business development efforts in new and existing clients by contributing to the scope, estimation, and approach for implementation services, especially as it relates to new product development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain a detailed technical and functional working knowledge of the Colibrium Tuo software application, MS Dynamics CRM and other CRM technology
Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of relevant industry business processes (i.e., call center operations, insurance sales and marketing techniques, medical underwriting processes, etc.)
Collaborate with executive management to define, prioritize and plan Colibrium’s product road map in conjunction with corporate strategic objectives
Translate strategic objectives, market trends, and prospect/client culture into tangible and actionable product development activities
Direct the development and execution of the quarterly product release schedule
Develop and evolve functional and technical architecture ensuring compatibility with the Colibrium Delivery Methodology, including SDLC and project deliverable standards
Educate prospects and clients on product functionality and future enhancements or upgrades
Manage a functional and technical team with varying levels of experience responsible for performing all aspects of project management, business analysis, software development and testing
Collaborate with other members of PING on all phases of the engagement, including status reporting, execution of the project deliverables, staffing requirements, job planning and scheduling
Provide and review estimates of work and time required to complete larger projects and features
Review deployment documentation and other technical documents produced during development efforts to ensure quality and compliance with PING standards and strategic objectives
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree from a traditional school (i.e. not online)
3+ years of experience as a Senior Manager/Director with at least 75% time devoted to product development and implementation activities
5+ years of experience as lead Project Manager with at least 50% time devoted to software development projects
2+ years of product management, product planning, or related experience
Past experience as Software Engineer, Enterprise Architect or Business Analyst
Experience working with functional and technical project artifacts (Requirements Definitions, Process Definitions, User Interface Design, Technical Interface Specifications, Automated Test Scripts, etc.)
Understanding of major contemporary software/system design principles (SOA, etc.)
Understanding of major business software application types (CRM, BRMS, etc.)
Understanding of common health insurance business processes
Proven experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Ability to travel up to 5%
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
Professional presence with the ability to establish credibility based on integrity, knowledge and dedication to excellence
Excellent meeting facilitation and presentation skills
Experience employing planning, task organization and task estimation methods
Organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize multiple, competing priorities

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate degree or equivalent studies
Health Insurance industry experience
MS Dynamics CRM experience
Software development /design / architecture experience
