Director - Multimedia Systems Software - NVIDIA - Santa Clara
Job description
In this role, you will be responsible for providing the vision and drive the team to invent solutions for Audio & Video Systems SW for NVIDIA products. As the director of the audio and video system sw, you will build and directly manage a team of highly talented and geographically distributed group of engineers. You will be involved in strategic product and roadmap planning, as well as in tactical day to day problem solving for complex system SW issues and platforms, that spans from Smartphones, Tablets, PCs, Game consoles, Cloud and Automotive. You are also expected to work closely with various other teams such as HW/Architecture and Marketing, and external partners to define roadmaps and execution plans to ensure timely deliveries.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and manage a team of audio & video sw architects and engineers working on complex mobile and PC platforms that span multiple product families.
- Drive the charter and team execution to guarantee functionality and performance
- Develop and establish key performance metrics for the global team
- Project planning, resourcing, and budgeting
- Customer and vendor interactions
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 15+ years of total experience with 5+ years of experience managing the Audio & Video SW teams in related areas
- Advanced knowledge of Video codecs, DSP and Systems
- Advanced Knowledge of Audio & Voice codecs, DSP, and Systems
- Knowledge of PC & mobile platforms and OS (Windows, Android, Linux) is highly desirable
- Experience with ARM & x86 microprocessor architecture
- Experience with optimizations of audio & video driver for performance, and power
- Hands on experience in developing SW architecture for a wide variety of PC & Mobile platforms and frameworks
- Proven success in working with HW teams for solving platform audio & video problems
- Experience with systems software, operating systems, and user level application interactions.
- PhD or MS in EE/CS/ECS or related technical field or equivalent.
- Ability to think simultaneously about module and platform constraints.
PREFERRED:
- Experience working with different audio & video peripherals for inputs and outputs
- knowledge of audio & video DRM technology is also a major plus
- Architecture experience dealing with Multimedia Frameworks under different OS will also be highly desirable (DXVA & MFT & WDDM on Windows, MediaCodec/OpenMax on Android, etc..)
- Experience with Advanced Audio DSP (Acoustic Noise cancellation, speaker protection, Multi-microphone noise cancellation, audio effects like 3D surround and capture)
- Experience with Video Codecs (HEVC, H.264), Video & Image Pre-PostProcessing
