Job description
The Director of Creative Technology will be responsible for the development and implementation of McDonald’s consumer-facing channels including but not limited to web and mobile applications. This position will play a key role in the development of a dynamic customer engagement system that will be utilized by millions of customers across the globe. McDonald’s is in the process of reinventing the quick serve restaurant and this professional will be responsible for systems that directly impact brand perception and affect the overall success of McDonald’s digital initiatives.
Provide leadership to distributed teams responsible the development of web and mobile applications
Develop roadmaps and capabilities for new applications to support McDonald’s digital initiatives.
Partner with digital teams to ensure development is data-driven and applications meet the needs of McDonald’s customers.
Further the development of McDonald’s global mobile applications, currently engaging with millions of customers each day.
Manage release cycles and provide versioning control for mobile applications across over 120 markets.
Guide distributed teams throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
Foster the growth of the technology team which is projected to double throughout 2015.
Desired Skills and Experience
A successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
8+ years of experience in interactive design and development specializing in websites, software applications & mobile/tablet applications.
Multiple large-scale mobile application development and deployment
Ability to work closely with Senior and C-Suite leadership throughout a company to ensure technical development supports the business strategy.
Proven track record of working distributed groups and outsourced development teams.
Experience leading teams responsible for full life cycle development of best-in-class customer facing web and mobile applications.
Demonstrated leadership experience alongside teams responsible for creating interactive, user-centered technology solutions.
Challenges within the First 12 Months
The most significant challenges for the Director, Creative Technology for the first 12 months include:
Quickly integrating with an existing team to assist in the current pilot of the US mobile application and further development of mobile functionality as the rollout continues.
Managing the release and versioning control for a mobile and web application meant to interact with 27 million customers daily in the US market alone.
Utilizing ever-expanding datasets to further the development of a customer-centric application system.
