VP - Business Development - Aerospike - San Francisco
Job description
The VP of Business Development is responsible for identifying, evaluating and managing new business opportunities by identifying technology/ecosystem/channel partners for Aerospike and closing partnership and/or revenue contracts with them. The ideal candidate will have an excellent ability to perform market analysis and understand emerging industry trends in order to pursue widespread product adoption in the marketplace. Furthermore, the candidate will have an outstanding track record of opening new relationships with software, cloud, and hardware partners and the ability to close business at a highly successful rate.
You will:
Participate with other members of the executive team to establish strategic plans and objectives, identify key needs and prioritize focus areas
Define and manage multiple strategic projects with deliverables and timelines
Act as executive level thought-partner for major strategic considerations
Prospect, identify, qualify and develop a strong pipeline of partners for channel sales and alliances
Understand technology and assist partners with figuring out how to embed Aerospike technology into their own products and services
Achieve and exceed revenue and referral targets and other suitable objectives
Skilfully handle complex negotiations on pricing, contract license and support terms with Partner and close deals
Have capacity to manage a team of direct and indirect reports
Work with Marketing to arrange periodic Meetup’s, conduct seminars, participate in trade shows, and other company related events
Be willing to attend after work events as needed
Travel to partner sites world wide
Desired Skills and Experience
You have:
A minimum of 5 years of previous software sales and/or business development experience, preferably in the areas of RDBMS and most notably in the field of NoSQL
A Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience with extra consideration given to candidates that possess a Master’s degree
A high-tech background including both startup and large companies (preferred)
Experience selling into prospects ranging from staff level technology managers to C level executives
The ability to conduct high level conversations with prospects ranging from junior level technology managers to senior executives
Outstanding relationship building skills with a high degree of responsiveness and integrity
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
A positive attitude and is a persistent team player with the eagerness to succeed
Ability to travel
