Vice President - Life Insurance - Prudential - Los Angeles


Job description
This position's functional role as an external Life product wholesaler is charged with achieving premium objectives within an assigned territory that includes financial professionals within Prudential's Agency Distribution channel and Merrill Lynch. The candidate in this role works closely with producers to increase their revenue through the sale of life insurance. Through the development of strong business relationships, the wholesaler strengthens case development skills, constructs client presentations, and accompanies the producer to client meetings. Wholesalers also deliver sales concepts, product information, competitive data, and provide technical guidance to producers. Interaction with producers is primarily through individual face to face meetings but also includes both large group meetings and small group sessions.

The wholesaler is part of a team reporting to a Divisional Vice President. In addition, all external wholesalers are supported by an internal wholesaler and home office staff. All materials, concepts and ideas that wholesalers deliver are compliance approved.


This position covers the Southern California area. The selected candidate will be required to live in the region or relocate to the area at their own expense; no relocation benefits available.

The position may require some overnight travel.

Desired Skills and Experience
High motivation and energy with the ability to drive sales objectives relatively autonomously
3- 5 years of wholesaling experience, preferably in Life products
A broad and comprehensive knowledge of the Life Insurance business, including an understanding of the sales process and the dynamics of selling life insurance products
Solid understanding of advanced markets
Excellent communication skills
Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
Solid understanding of compliance
Current Life and variable licenses in resident state and all states within assignment
Current FINRA Series 6 or 7
Current FINRA Series 63
Industry recognized designations such as CLU, ChFC, CFP are highly desirable
