Senior Director - Service Portfolio Management - EMC - Boston


Job description
As part of EMC IT’s Office of Architecture and Innovation (OAI) group, the role reports to the SPM Process Owner and is responsible for:
Designing the Service Portfolio Management process and periodically reviewing its efficacy through key metrics and KPIs
Running the day to day operations of the Service Portfolio Management Process and Pipeline
Manages the Service Portfolio Management Team
Maintains EMC IT’s Service Catalog

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accountable for defining the process, strategic goals and allocating all required process resources
Designs, documents, maintains & communicates the process
Designs key criteria for services evaluation (ROI, new, updates, retirement, etc.)
Runs for the day-to-day operations of the Service Portfolio Management Process with respects to its effectiveness and efficiency
Maintains EMC IT’s Service Catalog
Decides on a strategy to serve customers in cooperation with the IT Steering Group & Process Owner
Manages the SPM Team comprised of Service Center Strategy Managers, Enterprise Architects, and Finance representatives
Maintains evaluation key criteria models (ROI, new, update, retirement, investment, etc.) for ranking service demand
Maintains the SPM Pipeline of requests, demand, and initiatives
Develops cross-Service Center's offerings and capabilities in concert with the SPM Team and Solution Desk
Maintains the SPM Process design and documents
Ensures that the Process is being followed
Reports on SPM process metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Recommends continuous improvement to the Process
Participates in the PPM toll gate process

Desired Skills and Experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The SPM process owner needs to be able to combine the skills and practices from enterprise architecture, finance, and ITIL:
Finance:
Strong financial acumen
Ability to define return on investment and cost benefit analysis criteria
Understanding of services costing and pricing methodologies
Is aligned with EMC IT’s investment categories of Core (non-discretionary), Growth (discretionary), and Venture
Enterprise Architecture:
Understanding of current technologies in play at EMC IT for Cloud, Virtualization, Storage, Mobility, Security, Big Data, etc.
Insight and currency with industry directions related to EMC IT services
Understanding of business capabilities and business related architectures
ITIL:
ITIL Foundation certification
Expert knowledge of IT Service Management processes re Service Catalog, Portfolio Management, Configuration Management, and Capacity Planning
Other:
Management of a highly skilled diverse technical team
Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills to build and maintain effective working relationships and elicit cooperation from internal partners
