Director - Strategy & Planning - Prudential - Hartford
Job description
The Director of Strategy and Planning will work closely with Sales and Key Account Leadership and the Sales teams to develop, align, and deliver the sales strategy and tactical execution. This individual will partner with all areas to ensure major initiatives are managed with established strategy and goals. The position will report to VP, Distribution Strategy & Execution.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for strategy and execution of key initiatives, development of standard processes.
Serve as a key advisor to senior management in planning and developing long-term strategic focus of business, operating plans and organizational structure.
Support Business teams on behalf of Sales and Key Account.
Manage SEALS Program and emphasis on the $100m + market to drive sales
Provide trend analysis on Sales Practices, Strategies and External Environment.
Lead and facilitate cross-functional projects to ensure coordination of group's efforts on key initiatives.
Proactively educate internal associates and build bench strength.
Perform research and analysis of strategic issues raised by members of team.
Ensure effective implementation, measurement, and tracking of deliverables.
Provide ongoing support and expertise to senior management, assisting them in establishing and meeting or exceeding all objectives, standard processes and revenue generating strategies.
Support and take lead on behalf of Leadership on key issues
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum of 7-10 years experience with Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and Non-Qualified plans preferred
Strong understanding of external environment and competitive marketplace.
Strong financial acumen, with specific focus on competitive pricing, corporate finance and P&L management.
Ability to balance strategic thinking and implementation skills.
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to consistently exceed deliverables
Relationship management, sales and/or consulting experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to focus on and take ownership for both personal and team results (i.e. quality, deadlines, goal-setting, and process improvement).
Experience directly or matrix managing staff, external resources or other third-party vendors.
Ability to quickly execute on strategic decisions to drive organizational results.
Ability to work well under pressure and to easily adapt to changes in priorities to meet marketplace and business needs.
Superior oral and written communication skills, ability to translate complex ideas into clear and simple format. Experience establishing metrics and tracking results to metrics.
Bachelor's degree required.
FINRA 6 & 63 licenses and life license required within 120 days of hire
