Director - Field Marketing Operations - American Red Cross - Washington

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Marketing Operations professional to implement best practices & work flow process for a number of marketing related functions and initiatives in support of our Humanitarian Services/ Chapters.

As a member of the Humanitarian Services (HS) Marketing team, the Field Marketing Operations Director will lead & manage a virtual team of 3 brand, 3 digital and 3 direct marketing SME’s in the production of quality and inspiring marketing deliverables to support Humanitarian Services/ Chapters.

In addition to producing marketing materials, the Field Marketing Operation team is also accountable for:
1) Executing marketing work that meets measurable quality, and outcome standards
2) Implementing process improvements for continuous improvement and managing to a dashboard to achieve targets.
3) Contributing subject matter expertise in the various areas of Marketing by providing data-driven insights/practices for Marketers and Communicators in the field, as well as Field Marketing Divisional leadership.

4) Drive the change necessary to develop and deliver effective marketing practices to the Chapters. This will be achieved through data analysis to increase visibility, sharing & adoption of best practices and high value work.
5) Recruit and lead volunteer resources and other external resources/partners for various marketing projects throughout the year.

This role reports to the VP, Humanitarian Services Marketing and liaises closely with the functional areas of national headquarters’ Marketing (brand, digital and direct), as well as divisional Marketing leaders. While the position is remote-based, the ideal work location is the Washington DC area to allow for easy access to NHQ marketing & various other stakeholders. However, if the final candidate doesn't reside in the DC-area, travel will be heavier…approximately 50% of the time.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years marketing experience required.
• 5 years experience managing people.

Core Competencies:

• Outstanding communications, change management, and collaboration skills.
• Work effectively and be persuasive with senior leaders & colleagues across the organization.
• Knowledge of process and quality improvement practices required (LEAN, six sigma, and/or other proven methodologies would be sweet!).
• Ability to manage multiple COMPETING projects is essential.
• Excellent negotiation skills are going to help you get a lot done.
• Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills, including strong attention to details.
• Works well under pressure and has the ability to deal with multiple changing priorities.
• Demonstrates strong commitment and passion for the mission of the American Red Cross!
• Willingness to work outside standard established business hours and operational flexibility to meet sudden & unpredictable changing needs… like a during a disaster response.
