Director - Sales - Dang Foods - San Francisco
Job description
The top priorities of the Director of Sales are to:
Coordinate with the Director of Operations, Director of Marketing and the Founder to determine how to increase sales 100% year over year and determine what support each account needs to be successful.
Effectively manage brokers and regional sales teams by setting goals and measuring success against those goals
Successfully launch line extensions and new product lines.
Lead account penetration of key customers.
Increase per-store sales velocity by designing an appropriate promo plan for each customer and managing and analyzing trade spend.
Appraise non-tradition channels (club, export, foodservice, ecommerce), and spearhead entry to those channels..
Perform customer assessments to improve product positioning in light of market trends and competitor actions.
Create deduction and forecasting systems for us to manage our growth.

Desired Skills and Experience
5+ years of sales experience in the natural/specialty and grocery channel, selling grocery products nationally (ideally in snacks). Additional channel experience (club, foodservice, export, ecommerce) a plus.
Possesses relationships with key large national account buyers (Whole Foods, Kroger, Ahold, Publix, Safeway, Costco) – in the natural snack/dried fruit/nuts category.
Proven track record of maximizing sales in existing accounts and increasing same-store sales.
Demonstrated success in managing a national network of brokers and distributors in the natural/specialty and grocery channel.
Experience in effectively managing trade spend with focus on ROI.
Driven by analytics and data (e.g., IRI, Nielsen, Spins, retailer/distributor reports) when making decisions and presenting to key customers.
Experience working for a start-up / small company, and growing a brand under $5M to $20M+.
Experience in the launching of new products.
High proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, Google Docs.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Extensive travel (50 %+).
