Director - SAP Reporting - Sony - San Diego

Job description
Sony Electronics has a great opportunity in their San Diego, CA location for a Director SAP Reporting (BW/BO). The Director will be responsible for supporting requirements captured from key business areas across both the United States and United Kingdom regions covered by the SAP West platform.
This position will deliver BI solutions and services with the SAP West Tower, to support solution delivery within the SAP West platform through review and approval process (CAB) for any related activities. Understanding of planning, staffing, budgeting and overall prioritization as well as knowledge of costs (investments, one-off, running costs) is an essential part of this role. Experience of solution design and planning at both a tactical and strategic level is necessary.


Responsibilities include:
Global/Regional Platform Management
-- Define detailed service level and operation KPIs for platform users based on standard template
-- Monitor operation KPIs to keep stable system operation
-- Manage major incidents/problems and escalate to Tower Head if necessary
-- Promote service quality improvement

Global/Regional Program/Project Management
-- Define program/project plan with program/project manager based on EA Initiative List
-- Monitor project KPIs to follow quality, cost and delivery (QCD)
-- Manage major problems if program/project manager escalate
-- Promote project quality improvement

IS Cost Management
-- Support IS cost reduction plan with Head of SAP West Platform, GADC and GISS
-- Monitor IS cost reduction status

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Analysis, Engineering, Computer Studies/ Information Technology (or equivalent). 10 years’ experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
Experience in a similar role including supervisory and management experience with a team of 5 or more is required
An expert level of understanding of processes and reporting requirements of the key business areas (including Finance and accounting, Sales, demand planning and SCM)
Ability to direct and control the activities of the team across the whole business landscape where the SAP BW and BO platforms apply
Must have solid knowledge of BI infrastructure and should bring independent thought processes into the Sony Electronics platform
Technical knowledge of SAP BW platform required
Technical knowledge of Business Object required
Experience of solution design and planning at both a tactical and strategic level is required
Understanding of off-shore resource management remotely is required
Understanding of project management methodology (GCM) and system management methodology (ITSM) based on good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) required
Working knowledge of planning, staffing, budgeting and overall prioritization is a must
Managed large global projects either in SAP or Web/Java in applicable area is desirable
Experienced global transformation to optimize resource and application globally
Certification/qualification in any of the following: PMI certification or equivalent certification, ITIL foundation certification or equivalent certification Business Analysis certification or equivalent is highly desired
Approximately 25% travel required
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as required
