Job description
Brief Description:
Develops objectives, policies, and procedures for the procurement of goods and services necessary for the operation of the company. Organizes overall strategic planning process ensuring alignment with global, regional, and local procurement plans. Oversees entire supply chain management process to maximize benefit to end customer. Oversees purchasing programs and processes and ensures adherence to approved quality and delivery standards. Selects suppliers and negotiates contractual terms and conditions for commodity items. Develops systems and tools in support of the procurement function. Provides analytical support to procurement management and staff.

Detailed Description:
- Manages, organizes and plans purchasing activities, including general purchasing, global commodities purchasing, and subcontract management in accordance with overall company objectives.
- Develops, issues and directs company policies, procedures, standards, and processes, including E-procurement, for purchasing and supply in support of company operation.

- Develops sourcing strategies for categories or commodities; ensures standardized sourcing process is consistently implemented and followed; creates or provides input into the Regional Strategic Planning process.
- Ensures that purchases are made efficiently and at the lowest cost consistent with approved standards of quality and delivery; provides feedback to the supplier base to support quality improvement and cost reduction programs.
- Manages negotiations for strategic or major purchases, selects suppliers, and provides primary contact for suppliers.
- Manages the implementation process for sourcing initiatives and tracks compliance to ensure programs are rolled out across the businesses.
- Responsible for knowledge capture (collection, synthesis, standardization) and distribution of tools, templates and best practices to make procurement processes more efficient.
- Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff.
- Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience
- Requires BS/BA in related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in related field.
- Professional certification required in some areas.
- Has extensive depth and breadth of expertise and experience in business/functional area. A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects of work supervised and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
- Applies and/or develops highly advanced technologies, principles, theories and concepts. Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
- Analyzes and resolves complex cross-functional issues
