Job description
This position’s primary objectives are: to improve and update the Immunology franchise's understanding of marketplace performance through tracking, modeling, and analysis of physician, patient, managed care and economic factors; to develop fact-based plans for the companies SG&A spending and to manage the cost and value of franchise data information sources. The department uses insights from these analyses to support the annual financial and brand planning processes. This position is responsible for the identification of general principles that guide the investment of marketing funds. This position is also responsible for leveraging this information to enhance market and key account level spending plans; and thereby, to increase the return on marketing investments. The position also impacts financial forecasts through the application of predictive models to evaluate tactic contribution.

Key Responsibilities Include:

· Identify and implement opportunities for improving the company’s planning and goal-setting processes by leveraging marketplace experience, improved information, integrated systems, and superior analytical and modeling methods.

· Identify and aggressively pursue opportunities to increase the effectiveness and/or efficiency of Immunology's marketing and spending, primarily through the use of analytical and modeling capabilities and a variety of information and supplier resources.
· Leads the franchise analytic team in a manner that ensures that marketing analytics professionals have access to, and use, the most advanced information and analytical techniques and are properly trained and produce results that fully leverage the data and analytics.
· Oversee the development of state-of-the-art models that meet key business criteria (e.g. cost, risk, business impact) and key technical criteria (e.g. reliability, validity, and predictability)
· Identify and articulate fact-based spending and pricing principles through detailed analysis of marketplace and consumer dynamics. Ensure that these principles are leveraged in the development and revision of company plans.
· Improve the quality of the company’s information resources and expand the MA&BI user base through examples, training, and applications. Increase and enhance the company’s use of advanced modeling and analytical methods.
· Significantly increase the productivity of AbbVie and CA&O partner resources to reduce the cost and reliance on external suppliers.

Desired Skills and Experience
Basic:
· Master’s Degree (Business Administration, Statistics, Economics) preferred, with a concentration in marketing/sales/quantitative analysis.
· This position requires 10-15 years experience in quantitative analysis of sales and marketing information and the use of this information in the development of business plans and strategies.
· It requires advanced degrees in technical / quantitative areas. It also requires strong leadership skills and a proven ability to work closely and effectively with all corporate functions and senior management.
· Must exhibit proficiency commensurate with grade in the following competencies: anticipate future needs, build collaborative partnerships, Design and implement innovative solutions, demystify complex information, communicate insights and solutions and coach for greater team effectiveness.
· This position requires an intimate knowledge of the marketing, sales, and logistics planning processes, advanced quantitative expertise, systems understanding, and the ability to develop and use specialized analytic techniques within a business setting.
· Command of the following software programs (Powerpoint, Excel, Access). Demonstrated project management skills.
· Builds relationships and interacts with direct staff/team, internal peers, forecasting, finance, MC&O, legal, GPRD, RMs, SDs, marketing directors and product managers, GMs/VPs, vendors.

Preferred:
· Ph.D. is a plus.
· Experience with SAS/SPSS preferred.
