Director - Marketing and Public Relations - Five Branches University - San Francisco


Job description
Mission of the Position: To prioritize, plan, manage and implement marketing strategies for all University programs and health centers.

Summary of the Position: Working closely with the President and Admissions Directors, the Director of University Marketing sets priorities for all marketing, advertising, and communication initiatives and projects, plans for scope of work, manages, and implements the work flow of the marketing team.


The University Marketing Team will include the President, Admissions Directors (all academic programs), Student Services Personnel, Director of IT, Graphic Designer, Office Coordinators, Copy Writer, and work study students.

Reports to: President

Supervises: Marketing team including design, writing, and web

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Working hand in hand with the President, Admissions Directors, and Clinic Managers. Provides leadership, strategic coordination to all aspects of marketing and advertising.

2. Give leadership to the marketing team by fostering a highly functional group of professionals.

3. Work daily with the Admissions Directors to ensure delivery of leads for new enrollment.

4. Work with the broader Admissions team, Foundation, Departments to prioritize and schedule delivery of all collateral for recruitment of a diversity of student pools—graduate and post-graduate, donor groups, alumni & patients.

5. Work with the Admissions team to give leadership and expertise to all media campaigns.

6. A strong understanding of all aspects of digital marketing and social networking
campaigns for student recruitment, fundraising, event promotion, etc..

7. Work collaboratively with the President to ensure brand integrity and continuity in articulating the mission, vision, and core themes of the University.

8. Implements and manages the development and production of marketing and communication materials for the University, including all writing and editing of the campaign case statements and materials, admission brochures, new program content, and other print/web needs as identified.
9. Work closely with third party vendors obtain leads for admissions departments. Assess if additional third party resources

10. Plan, prioritize and schedule all marketing work through an agreed upon set of University priorities.

11. Initiate professional relationships with advertising professionals and supply vendors, and hire outside vendors as needed.

12. Liaison with other on campus departments to assure that marketing and advertising needs are met and up to University standards.

12. Work within the University budgeting process to assist in revenue generation and recruitment pool goal setting. Produce accounting data as necessary

13. Travel as needed to liaison and/or recruit on college campuses.

Desired Skills and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree required in a marketing related area

2. A minimum of 3-5 years experience in all phases of marketing and advertising strategy and production; higher education marketing including direct and current experience with student recruitment and fundraising preferred.

3. Strong leadership skills with the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team.
4. Excellent knowledge and experience with marketing in online environments including expertise in analytics and online search strategy.

5. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, and Excel.

6. Skill and expertise in project management and effective communications in a complex organizational setting.

7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

9. Management experience.

10. Ability to work well as a team player.

11. Possess a high level of confidentiality.

12. A valid driver’s license.

13. Willingness to travel and work nights and weekends.
