Director - Information Technology - RJN Group - Chicago
Job description
We have an exciting senior management opportunity for an Information Technology Director to join our growing organization. This strategic position will contribute to the growth and success of RJN Group.
Position could be based in either the Wheaton, Illinois Corporate Headquarters or the Dallas, Texas Information Technology Data Center locations.
Position has authority and accountability for the following:
software product and applications development
system network, computer hardware and software standards
third party vendors providing IT products and services to the firm
IT strategic plan to support the company growth plan
information technology department budget
achieving corporate technology systems and software goals
Position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and has direct line responsibility for internal software development and programming staff, Hardware, software and WAN support staff, computer systems support staff, all company communications systems including VPN, Intranet, Website and Social Media.
Position objectives:
Improve Information Management Systems – implement software applications and networking systems to improve data communication, conversion, transmission, storage and disaster recovery; define standards, policies, procedures, measures and organizational enhancements; provide innovative solutions for Intranet, Internet, offsite server support (cloud), office automation, multimedia, and telecommunications needs; evaluate new technologies for inclusion into the firm’s products, processes and information management systems
Improve Production Efficiency through Innovation – develop and support software applications to improve corporate operations; develop applications to improve production efficiency; research and evaluate third party software for efficiency and quality improvements; remain innovative, creative and abreast of information technology trends;
Support Growth Objectives - fulfill the company’s goals regarding information technology according to the adopted mission, vision and core values; rapidly and efficiently deploy efficient technology systems; support growth in new markets; provide client training and support, where applicable
Centralize Technical Support Functions - manage information network, systems integration, computer and telecommunications systems; provide computer hardware and software technical support; manage research, development and software design initiatives; develop internal and external applications within targeted timelines.

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum Job Qualifications
BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Minimum of 10 years of relevant and progressively more responsible information technology experience including three years in a management role
Desired Knowledge/Skills
Mobile field data collection hardware and software
Geographic Information Systems (preferably ESRI)
Cloud data storage, data backup and disaster recovery
System security
Private sector service or consulting business experience
Database design and maintenance
