Director - Global Planning & Analysis - CFA Institute - Charlottesville
Job description
The Director, Global Planning & Analysis (GP&A) is accountable globally for strategic and operational planning and performance assessment including overall process execution and effectiveness, financial modeling, work plan and budget development, assessment of organizational performance against strategic, operational and financial targets, and communicating plans and results to senior leadership. This position directly contributes to and supports organizational decision making that weighs mission goals against business constraints and strives to maximize the effectiveness of the organization while protecting its long-term financial viability. Within the finance department, this position is responsible for developing and executing long-term and annual planning and performance assessment processes. The position will be headquartered in Charlottesville, VA and will be supported by the Head, Global Planning and Reporting.
Desired Skills and Experience
College degree in business or related field with 10+ years of direct experience, or
A graduate degree (MBA or equivalent) and 7+ years of direct experience required
MBA, CPA or CFA preferred
Knowledge of business, economics, accounting, statistics, and project management methodologies is required
Familiarity with strategic planning, budgeting, organization behavior and accounting best practices and principles is extremely helpful.
Flexibility in managing competing priorities and changing expectations while achieving results is required
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation are required
Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) is required.
Fluency in English required
Global cultural orientation and working experience preferred
Must demonstrate outstanding judgment and mature business skills with the ability to establish a strong rapport with senior management
Ability to create new and unique ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit a plus
Experience in project management, with skills necessary to interpret what is needed for the success of a project and to create appropriate schedules for timely delivery
Very high level of organizational and time management skills
Excellent consulting, problem solving, and analytical skills
Willingness to ask questions rather than just follow directions is required.
