Job description
We are seeking someone with a true passion for the delivery of great Representative and Customer Experience as well as operational excellence. Working in close collaboration with key senior business and technology leaders across Fidelity, this leader is accountable to drive the strategic technology vision while building a scalable delivery model.
Primary Responsibilities
The Director of Development will act as a strategic thought leader and business partner by providing creative and innovative technology solutions to improve the overall representative and customer experience. Team members work in a fast-paced global environment delivering both tactical and strategic technology solutions.
Strong People Leadership, ability to grow effective teams, assess talent, develop people, coach, and mentor.
Collaboratively manage a multi-year product life cycle with business and technology partners by fostering innovative technology solutions or processes to solve complex problems.
Provide leadership to multiple global teams in broad technical areas: systems analysis, architecture, software design, software development, quality assurance, performance characterization and release engineering.
Significant stakeholder and contributor to the end to end experience for representatives and customer from application development thru to desktop configuration.
Clearly define systems requirements and manage expectations with business and technology partners accordingly
Quickly detect and solve technology delivery issues effectively. Ensure contingency activities are covered related to system/application availability.
Evaluate existing DevOps processes, develop culture of continuous improvement and measure key initiatives for process improvements and efficiencies.
Comply with technical standards, policies and procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience
Education and Experience
10+ years’ experience in a direct management capacity for a high performing software development team of 10 + associates
BS or MS in a technical discipline
Proven capabilities of program management across multiple work streams
Global Delivery Experience
Strong track record of quality code delivery and production stability execution
Highly Desired:
Contact center experience
Product Management experience
Passion for creating and cultivate effective relationships with team, business partners and technology supplier.
Passion for delivering the fantastic customer experiences
Skills and Knowledge
Working knowledge of:
Development: JavaScript, Microsoft .NET technologies, Spring,, Strong experience with Web Development,
Methodology: Scrum, XP, Lean, Kanban, Iterative, RUP
Knowledge of Testing & Performance Characterization processes
Web Servers: IIS, Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat
Other: HTML5, WPF, WCF, C#, Java
Highly desired:
Experienced with Email, chat, social technologies relating for Business to Consumer use case
Mobile development
Proven management and leadership skills, coaching and mentoring development teams
Exemplary collaboration, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Superior ability to prioritize appropriately
