Director - Big Data Analytics - EMC - Boston
Job description
The Director will be responsible for the overall delivery of IT services to the EMC business community. The incumbent will help lead the big data analytics and reporting and identify trends, issues and opportunities to improve service to the business. They will ensure the value of data and insights is well understood and optimized for key stakeholders. The leader of this team is expected to collaborate across the company and leverage strong relationships across many organizational business functions.
Responsibilities include providing direction to direct reports on strategies and initiatives, along with driving strategic priorities for internal customers. The position will require leadership, technical and financial acumen, customer interface skills, and strong strategic ability.
Responsibilities
• Provides on-going strategic insights and thought leadership to support business strategy.
• Subject-matter-expertise to lead, communicate and execute world-class web measurement strategies, ensuring it evolves over time to reflect the changing needs of the business.
• Provide strategic guidance on a standard set of dashboards and scorecard reports with actionable KPIs for each line of business and publish on regular basis for the customer organizations.
• Partner with key stakeholders to define online customer insights through definition of KPIs, web metrics capabilities and reporting.
• Expert at identifying trends in data, drawing conclusions and making actionable recommendations to key stakeholders within the organization.
• Interpret complex customer & business data to develop an organized set of conclusions/recommendations.
• Provide senior level analytic leadership.
• Lead team to develop and document digital insights processes and procedures required by governance, risk and security standards and policies
• Support the continued enhancement and evolution of our analytics capabilities to a best-in-class level. Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations and drive new analytics initiatives that contribute to business goals.
• Build for the future and provide people leadership; oversee people plans and strategies to attract, motivate and retain highly diverse, qualified and engaged team members.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA a plus
10+ years of direct and hands-on management experience.
Experience implementing BI solutions within large organizations.
Qualified candidates will have a broad understanding of analytical processes including but not limited to: data management, forecasting, optimization, predictive modeling, and visualization.
Experience with SQL and SAS
Experience with Business Intelligence & reporting tools such as
Tableau, Crystal Reports, Business objects or Cognos is an asset
Experience with implementation and usage of web analytics tools
Advanced skills with all Microsoft Office Software for the creation of management reports, presentations, and analysis.
Skill merging diverse data from different platforms, formats and environments
Conceptual thinker with proven analytical & problem solving skills
Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing web analytics knowledge amongst team members and in collaboration with the business
Excellent understanding of relational databases, data warehousing and web site technology
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across lines of business
Must be knowledgeable about the web and emerging technologies
Have a global perspective and be willing to collaborate on international projects
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
