All of the company’s promotional and communication needs are completed in-house by these “creatives” in an advertising agency-based set-up. This includes everything from advertising, promotions and print production to media relations, exhibition coordination and website maintenance. Everyone from artists, writers, designers, media buyers, event coordinators, video producers/editors and public relations specialists work together to bring campaigns and product-centric promotions to life. Garmin is adding a creative and strategic professional to our in-house marketing communications team. This leader will understand product marketing objectives and convert them into compelling advertising strategies while also managing a team of market-specific Advertising Account Executives who direct targeted campaigns for their respective business segments. An excellent communicator that can work closely with marketing and segment counterparts to define goals and who can work closely with creative teams to identify exciting, on-strategy campaign deliverables.


Key responsibilities also include:
Excellent communicator with proven presentation skills
In-depth understanding of the products, services and advertising needs of the Garmin
Able to take complex segment marketing challenges and create effective campaign strategies
Become an indispensable segment ally by providing highly effective solutions to the segment’s messaging problems.
Attract, inspire and manage a team of Advertising Account Executives
Manage a high volume of projects and deliver materials on-time and on-budget
The ability to bring all team members together to work enthusiastically toward a well-defined project goal
Work with Communications and Traffic to prioritize jobs and improve work-flow systems
Present on-strategy creative campaigns, solicit feedback, seek approval
Establish advertising budgets in keeping with business objectives and track and report costs
Foster open communication and project management transparency so all stakeholders are on the same page at any given moment
Create timely status reports of work in progress
Assess the effectiveness of campaigns and report findings in an effort to constantly improve
Work closely and meet often with Creative and Media leaders to ensure collaboration within the department
Work in close alignment with the Director of Marketing to ensure advertising strategies are in keeping with product marketing goals and expectations
Maintain a global approach to campaign management by working closely with EMEA and APAC marcom colleagues
Remain aware of competitors’ advertising activities and report the impact on Garmin’s marketing and sales
You will also coordinate efforts with Garmin’s international advertising/communications representatives and willingness to travel as required.

Desired Skills and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Journalism, or another substantially similar field and possess a minimum of 8 years advertising account service experience is required.

Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Demonstrated pProficiency in word processing and spreadsheet programs
Must possess demonstrated effective presentation skills and public speaking ability
