Job description
The Director, Strategic Innovation Management (SIM) is responsible for leading efforts to identify, explore and drive significant and disruptive innovation (game changers) that supports Pharmaceutical Operations & Technology's (PO&T) strategy to implementation readiness.
The incumbent will be accountable to manage innovative programs and ideas through a PO&T innovation process that encompasses program definition, ideation, and evaluation through proof of concept. Given the cross functional nature of these disruptive ideas, the SIM will have a high degree of reliance on all functions during this process. The SIM is accountable to move ideas from concept through to some decision point whether to implement or stop investment in a given idea.
About the role:
Develop scope for innovation projects together with key line stakeholders
Facilitate the selection of innovative ideas for further consideration
Stay updated on external and industry trends that may stimulate innovative ideas
Spearhead cross-functional mechanisms for idea generation
Manager and co-lead (with a technical subject matter expert) a transparent and disciplined process to develop disruptive, innovative ideas to decision
Define the scope, timeline and budget to feasibility testing and proof of concept
Develop innovation proposals for presentation to the Innovation Steering Committee and Board and ensure proposals are supported by a strong business case and proof of concept
Identify and secure cross functional SME resources to work on ideas
Communicate status of innovative ideas/projects

Qualifications
•Broad external experience (some biotech experience preferred)
•Creative activities in marketing or design, and leading ideation exercises to identify a range of potential solutions
•Program and project management
•Management of cross-functional and diverse teams
•Experience synthesizing complex ideas into a compelling story for effective evaluation
•Proven experience leading innovative ideas within a company
Education
•Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering required; MBA beneficial
•Minimum 10 years of experience
