Director - Operations - RGB Spectrum - Alameda


Job description
The Director of Operations is responsible for planning and execution of the production and delivery of the Company’s complete product portfolio through the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of goods and synchronizing all work functions within the purchasing, shipping, and quality department and also with contract manufacturers and vendors. The primary job goal is to ensure that materials meeting customer requirements are procured, created, stored and distributed in a timely manner.


Description
Budgetary planning for product production.
Analyzing and evaluating contract manufacturer and ODM performance.
Analyzing and evaluating material costs, volume efficiency and delivery efficiency.
Coordinating and negotiating with vendors for price and procurement.
Organizing and supervising the shipping and receiving of all materials.
Daily management of order processing, production schedules and delivery.
Managing records of all stock and inventory.
Making assessment reports of availability, price, market survey and supply of material.
Maintaining and improving the standard and quality of goods and materials.
Recruitment of staff, management of staff skills development and reward systems.
Facility management.

Desired Skills and Experience
Education and training:
Bachelor’s degree in administration, material management, logistics, supply chain or any associated field of study, with a minimum of four to five years in managing Tier 1 contract manufacturers.
Preferred: post-graduate degree in material management, operations, inventory management, or any related field, with a minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in material procurements

Skills and knowledge required:
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to network and negotiate with vendors and suppliers.
Strong leadership abilities.
Analytical skills and the ability to skillfully plan and organize functions.
Supervisory skills for delegating work to subordinates and evaluating their performance.
Detailed working knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus.

Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years in operations management, supply chain management, or materials management.
