Annuities Product Development Director - Prudential - Shelton


Job description
Currently seeking a visionary product professional to enhance our product team as the Director, Product Concept Development.

The Product Concept Development Director will champion the successful ideation, analysis and documentation of all aspects of annuity product concepts. This candidate will also be responsible for the completion and delivery of business cases to senior leadership within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with internal and external partners to identify opportunities to provide a unique value proposition to our key constituents
Establish strong relationships with leaders across Prudential and gain functional understanding beyond product
Work with senior leadership to stress the importance of initiatives in order to gain acceptance and ultimately resource prioritization for the completion of business cases
Influence and lead cross-functional representatives to proactively document and recommend solutions associated with concepts being analyzed
Assist in the development of a simple repeatable end to end business case development process
Own the delivery of strategically significant business cases to the product council as well as senior leadership of the annuities organization
Collaborate with other Prudential businesses in order to identify new business opportunities, share best practices and ultimately leverage opportunities.
Understand the competitive landscape of various financial industry products and product lines as well as, positioning and marketing, benefits, and pricing.
Manage timelines and deadlines associated with the above mentioned business cases and documentation
Facilitate the creative process, “IdeaMINE”, and assist in setting agenda’s and driving creative and collaborative conversations

Desired Skills and Experience
• 5+ years relevant experience in Financial Services field required.
• Proven success in implementing or creating strategically compelling business cases for product development projects that deliver results to meet business goals.
• Very strong strategic thinker and leader, is proactive and takes initiative.
• Self starter – can assess what work needs to be completed and how to get it done.
• 3+ years annuities experience or equivalent financial services industry and product knowledge.
• Excellent influencing, organizational, facilitation, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without authority, effectively collaborating with multiple levels within the internal organization as well as investment professionals and wholesalers.
• Strength of convictions and ability to influence and champion product changes.
• Ability to effectively manage several dissimilar projects and prioritize.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• BA/BS degree required.
• Series 6 license required within 180 days from hire date.
