Role Description
The Senior Director of Strategy and Finance for Global Biscuits will work with the Regional Leaders across the globe to develp and implement the strategy for the Global Biscuits Category.
The primary function of this role is organic strategy development to grow the biscuit strategy within Mondelez International acorss the world. This person will facilitate global category leadership meetings and will be responsible to align the overall strategy for the category throughout the goal.
In order to execute the overall strategy this person will need to have a strong knowledge base of emerging markets and consumer research algon with develping line trials for innovations.
This role is also responsible to develop and maintain regular financial performance reporting for the category overall and - together with the team - ensure the on-going management of the budget for the Global Category team.
This role is responsible to lead the Strategy and Finance function of the Global Category Team, which includes the people management responsibility.
1. Work as a key member of the category leadership team to develop, define and deliver a global strategy for the category
2. Provide strategy- & finance-specific support, leadership or oversight (as required) for strategic initiatives such as local market entry, financial modelling and evaluation, business model definition and strategic fact base development
3. Develop and maintain regular financial performance reporting for the category overall and on-going management of the budget for the Global Category team, including:
• Understanding actual and forecast performance of the category overall across regions, markets and brands
• Owning the development and management of the budget for the Global Category, including people costs, project spend, travel etc. and ensuring delivery to contract and inputs to the annual contract for Global Commercial overall
4. Ensure that all commercial propositions and strategies driven by the category are rooted in a strong fact base, financially material consumer insights, competitor intelligence, meet our value creation criteria, is aligned with, and is clearly-linked to and consistent with other Category strategic priorities and activity:
• Ensuring strategy development standards and processes are met.
• Ensuring and facilitating access to all relevant information required for developing and monitoring the delivery of the strategy
• Ensuring the category ambitions and plans are linked to, and support the delivery of, the Category’s overall strategic goals.
5. Driving development of material required for Global Category Team dialogues on strategy – including preparation of material to review priorities, issues or overall strategy
6. Know the ethical and legal compliance responsibilities of the position; lead ethically and model compliant behaviour; maintain an environment where employees can speak up without fear of retaliation; ensure employees in area of responsibility understand the compliance responsibilities of their jobs and actively participate in the compliance program.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
• Minimum of eight years of experience of management experience in Finance or Strategy within an FMCG company or providing consulting solutions to FMCG companies.
• Commercial understanding gained through experience in commercial or supply chain areas.
• Must have emerging market experience and consumer research experience within emerging markets.
• Must have pure strategy experience and have the ability to work with large data sets, formalatng consumer insights to formulate strategy that is aligned with the overall business objectives.
• Breadth of financial knowledge and experience
Education
Bachelor Degree in Finance or Quantitative Marketing Required
MBA is preferred.
