Director - Retail Training - Follett - Chicago


Job description
Designs, acquires, administers, and implements internal and external training programs for the retail organization. Establishes the retail learning strategy and works with leadership to facilitate the identification, development and execution of the training to support achieving the organization vision, mission, and strategy. Training programs include onboarding, customer service training, management/leadership development, training support for strategic projects, career growth planning, new store transitions , and general sessions for company associates.
Support immediate and long-range company goals by investigating and evaluating existing training methods and procedures. Design and oversee improved training programs. Establishes and measures ROI for key training programs.
Collaborate with field organization to identify training and development needs; prioritize needs and identify solutions.
Maintain records on the progress and performance of those involved in the training programs and measure impact by business results. Creates manages and oversees budget, making adjustments as necessary throughout the year.
Administer programs either by personally conducting training sessions or assigning specific training activities to other personnel.
Coordinate the preparation of training content and materials used in conjunction with various programs and strategic initiatives. Manage and oversee management trainee program, Ensures trainees acquire necessary skills and knowledge to be successful managers.

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent
7-10 years similar experience
Advanced computer skills
Retail experience highly preferred
Travel is less than 10%
