Director - Retail Marketing - McKesson - San Francisco


Job description

McKesson is looking for a Director, Retail Marketing to join their team. They will be responsible for providing overall marketing leadership to the Retail National Account segment. This is a critical part of McKesson’s business bringing in an estimated $70B annually.

Position Description

The Director, Retail Marketing will be responsible for the segment’s marketing strategy and being the marketing lead for key program development initiatives that may impact the segment. This includes the following:
Identifying, evaluating and recommending marketing opportunities consistent with segment objectives.
Working closely with the sales team to understand customer needs and promote select marketing initiatives to meet changing and expanding needs in the marketplace.
Building and leveraging cross-functional collaborative relationships to achieve shared company goals.
Leading the participation of cross-functional, as well as, cross BU teams to execute marketing plans that will drive customer adoption and satisfaction.
Working with internal groups to identify, analyze and implement new ways to provide customer value.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead $70B Retail National Account segment marketing strategy and overall marketing efforts to retain and gain new customers.
Develop value proposition for programs and services that increase McKesson program participation to raise barriers to competition, enhance retention and strengthen financial results.
Act as marketing lead for all retail marketing initiatives that impact the RNA segment and leverage McKesson assets to support retail customer success.
Manage the Marketing Manager and provide strategic oversight to the Retail National Account Request for Proposal process and submissions, as well as, Quarterly Business Reviews and Customer Presentations.
Prepare and manage RNA marketing department budget, ensuring expenditures are within established parameters.

Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum Requirements

8+ years of marketing experience including 5+ years managerial experience

Critical Skills
Previous experience working with or for a large Retail National Chain OR Experience with pharmaceutical supply-chain or distribution
5+ years experience managing strategic marketing initiatives
Exceptional relationship building skills and ability to cultivate partnerships with Sales Team
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Must be highly self-motivated, decisive, accountable, and able to use sound judgment and prioritize key issues
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with both high profile customers and executive level management
Ability to think logically and analytically, problem-solve, build consensus and lead initiatives
Must be willing to travel 25% of time
Education

4-year Degree in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
