Job description

Direct the design, development and maintenance of quality systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products for a business unit or corporate organization. Direct the audits of quality systems for deficiency identification and correction as applied to new and existing company products. Direct the development of inspection and testing processes, as appropriate. Reports to Senior Management on the overall effectiveness of the Quality System.

Key Responsibilities and End Results:

Direct the development, modification and maintenance of relevant quality systems in areas of product responsibility, to assure compliance with appropriate industry standards, and customer and regulatory requirements.
Direct and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the quality of products and capability of related processes.
Direct statistical analysis projects to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Direct the auditing process of quality systems for deficiency identification and correction, and ensure that corrective action plans are put into place and executed in a timely manner.
Ensure that corrective actions meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with all Nypro and customer requirements
Direct the development of sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements related to Quality.
Provide direction and training, as necessary, to a staff of Managers and/or Quality Assurance Engineers.
Manage a budget and ensure that the function is properly staffed and utilized according to Nypro polices and government regulations. Represent Nypro to customers in all matters related to product quality.
Keep Management informed of any critical issues and or corrective actions that may impact production schedules or costs.
Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
Responsible for the employment cycle, performance and compensation management, and training and development for assigned direct reports.
Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.

Job Specifications:

BS or equivalent
10+ years of related experience in manufacturing; experience with injection molding and/or contract manufacturing is a plus.
Strong quality systems knowledge and understanding of common quality system standards such as ISO9000 and ISO13485.
Experience using Lean Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
Knowledge of applied statistics in manufacturing including SPC, SQC, process capability and control limits.
