Director - Professional Services Procurement - Fidelity Investments - Fort Worth


Job description
The Director, Professional Services Procurement provides industry specific knowledge and direction in the development, business terms negotiation, management and administration of sourcing engagements and supplier relationships. Suppliers managed include IT development contractors as well as management consultants. This individual will manage Procurement sourcing evaluations to establish and maintain business controls for medium dollar or medium exposure contracts. The Sourcing Manager must be able to understand and help business partners navigate and manage the Fidelity purchasing process. This individual will analyze business contract issues compared to standard norms to identify and minimize or eliminate risks and optimize value to Fidelity. This person will work independently on both standard and non-standard engagements with low to medium levels of complexity and risk.

Primary Responsibilities

Sourcing Management
Develop, negotiate business terms (including project requirements, price and SLAs), administer and manage sourcing engagements with low to medium complexity and risk or potential liability to Fidelity within the Professional Services Category.
Proactively support business partners in filling needs through the use of outside consulting services Suppliers.
Bring experience and knowledge of best practices to manage the purchase relationship and management of professional services contractors, consultants and their Suppliers, including IT and Management consulting.
Take initiative in offering suggestions to improve and expedite purchasing processes while carefully maintaining control of risk to Fidelity.
Actively engage and participate with business partners in the development of requirements and sourcing and selection of Professional services suppliers.
Ability to sell business partners on the value of using established and preferred supply base.
Interface with BU personnel, ensure sourcing objectives align with key stakeholder expectations, and provide project status and analysis throughout the sourcing development phases.
Work well in fast paced environment with the ability to prioritize and manage expectations across multiple projects among many business partners.
Interface with peer level business units personnel and middle management to provide project status and analysis throughout the negotiations/contract development phase.
Coordinate, develop and manage RFP/RFI process, manage the analysis and evaluation of proposals and the development of appropriate recommendations using standard approved templates.
Work with suppliers and internal business unit personnel to identify research and resolve Procurement related issues and to develop corrective action programs and monitor progress and identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with the Contract Specialist in the creation, negotiation and completion of Supplier Agreements.
Participates in cross-team negotiations and assists in the execution of the strategies.
Document ongoing activities in electronic project system in coordination with Contract Managers.
Analyze and report on savings associated completed transactions and agreements.
Establish thorough working knowledge of internal and sourcing approval and funding processes of assigned BUs.

Supplier Management
Keep current on technology trends, market/economic conditions and demand patterns in the assigned commodity areas presented from senior management.
Identify and develop alternate/additional supply sources, assess financial stability, quality performance, and capabilities of potential Suppliers. Research and implement, where appropriate, efficient transaction management processes (ordering and payment) for the commodity/supplier being contracted.

Relationship Management
Work closely with business unit personnel to identify needs, trends and sourcing of products and services within supply base and develop strategies and supplier performance measurements.
Expand and promote the role of Procurement throughout Fidelity.
Perform Relationship Management duties when and as assigned by management.
Work well with Procurement Analytics, Sourcing, Contracts and Operations to optimize efficiency for the firm.

Special Projects
Contribute to the development/creation of department and client research/documentation.
Identify and generate Sourcing process improvements (tiger teams, client improvements teams).

Customer Satisfaction
Work closely with support staff and assigned Business Units to ensure Procurement is providing the highest level of support.
Identify savings/process improvement opportunities to optimize customer spending.
Respond to business unit inquiries and special requests.

Desired Skills and Experience
Education and Experience
Bachelor degree or equivalent business experience
Minimum of 5-8 years Procurement related experience, including 4+ years sourcing and contract negotiation of Professional Services and Staffing suppliers. (not only Buyers or Purchase Order transaction based experience)
Experience with Procurement Esourcing or Vendor Management Systems ideal (IBM Emptoris, Ariba, Frictionless, IQNavigator, Beeline, Fieldglass)
