Director - Legal - Technology Contracts Support - Fidelity Investments - Jersey


Job description
The Fidelity Institutional (FI) Legal Group is responsible for providing advice on all legal aspects and issues within the businesses that constitute the FI group (National Financial, Institutional Wealth Services, Family Office and Capital Markets) within the Fidelity Personal, Workplace and Institutional Services group, including advice on laws, rules and regulations, new product development or product enhancements, contract negotiations, as well as policies and procedures. As part of Fidelity’s Corporate Legal group, you will provide advice to and work closely with internal clients within FI in areas such as Operations, Risk, Sales, Relationship Management and Compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day legal support and advice to National Financial (“NF”) and the Operations & Services Group (“OSG”) in connection with products, projects, initiatives and other matters related to NF’s technology platform, including performing legal research and advising on complex legal and regulatory developments.
Prepare and negotiate agreements with intermediaries including client and vendor technology agreements, amendments, schedules and other standard legal documents.
Manage and participate in communications with client and intermediaries during negotiations.
Persuasively advocate for and effectively represent NF and OSG to third parties including regulators.
Draft and negotiate non-disclosure agreements with prospective correspondents or vendors.
Manage, negotiate and update template contracts, as needed.
Participate in product reviews and projects to advise clients on legal risks.
Participate in cross-functional and cross-company initiatives providing legal input as necessary.
Develop and provide input on NF policies and procedures.
Collaborate with business partners to identify solutions that meet business objectives in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with other members of FI Legal in offering seamless support to FI while mitigating risk.
Such support may include work on other brokerage and/or regulatory matters.

Desired Skills and Experience
Education and Experience
Law degree strongly preferred
A minimum 2-3 years relevant experience required
Broker-dealer, licensing or relevant industry experience required
