Director - IT Solution Delivery - Amway - Grand Rapids

Reporting Relationships
The Director, IT Solution Delivery will report to and be the business partner to the Chief Information Officer for Amway’s Americas Region. The successful individual will, as well, be a key player and collaborative contributor who will work closely with The Regional President’s Executive Management Team. The person is considered a critical leader in driving and supporting the Regions technology vision and its growth strategy. The professional will interact frequently with Executive Management Team and will be expected to provide broad operational oversight; trusted advice, both from a strategic and tactical perspective; and deep experience anticipating issues and impact of management decisions.

The Role
The Director, IT Solution Delivery is responsible for the Americas Project Management Services, Quality Assurance, Enterprise Architecture, Strategy & Planning, IT Service Management and Risk Management functions throughout the Americas Region. S/He will also be responsible for maximizing the value of regional IT investments by implementing, managing and raising the capabilities of essential IT processes and disciplines through simplified, effective and efficient process, agile delivery mechanisms and innovative techniques. You will acts as a strong catalyst to drive change and innovation throughout the Americas to maximize company growth.
The role serves as a member of the Regional IT Leadership governance body and facilitates the regional governance processes within the IT Solutions Delivery organization in accordance with Amway’s strategic initiatives. It will be imperative to establish and maintain relationships across the Americas, in order to ensure effective execution, and collaborate with the Americas Executive Staff and Global IT leaders as needed to carry out assigned responsibilities.

Specific Responsibilities
Project Management Office (PMO)
Responsible for strategy and implementation of the following functions – portfolio/project management, resource/demand management and financial management
Develop/lead the process for managing regional IT demand, balancing business priorities with IT resources/capacity and ensuring appropriate business governance and engagement
Define/lead implementation and adoption of the portfolio management framework to ensure project portfolio aligns with strategic objectives/priorities
Drive processes and methodologies for project management and execution throughout the Americas
Monitors, manages and reports on projects and IT portfolio status/performance
Quality Assurance
Create/lead an Americas Quality team to ensure all releases meet requirements of quality and performance
Instill a discipline of quality throughout all of Americas IT, including process, systems and documentation
Ensure all system changes conform to quality standard that are continuously improved
Define/lead practices around performance testing, including load, stress and soak testing for all major systems
Risk Management
Design/lead an information security/risk management practice for the Americas, based on the ISO 27001 standard, to comply with best practices and policies around information management
Participate in both regional and global teams to continuously improve information security around the globe
IT Strategy & Planning
Responsible for development, implementation and revision of the Long Range Business Plan (LRBP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
Develop/implement the strategy and vision within the defined areas of responsibility
Lead IT Planning, annual Finance Management, and monitor performance against plan
Define, implement, and drive continuous improvement of operational performance metrics and scorecards
Staffing plan and execution
Direct and supervise hiring, performance management and resource utilization
Lead staffing, planning, governance, measurements and reporting, talent development and cross team facilitation across the organization
Ensure accuracy of scope, schedule, budget, expected benefits. Measure actual benefits realized over the project life cycle and hold people accountable for results
IT Service Management
Provide oversight for key ITIL processes, ensuring the region is effectively defining, implementing, managing and measuring technology services with clear accountability to maximize business value
Enterprise Architecture (EA)
Accountable for the evolution of the regional EA function including the coordination of enterprise business, information, technical and solution architecture viewpoints
Collaborate with regional and global IT leadership to reconcile solutions to the proposed architecture and standards. Refer exceptions to the ARB
Establish clearly defined application architecture and design standards to be used by application development and delivery teams
Ensure that EA outputs bring positive change across the organization through effective governance, including ensuring the right organization structures, with the right people, are engaged to make/support EA decisions, as well as ensuring these decisions are carried out as part of regional and global initiatives
Direct/guide effective integration of EA capabilities and processes with related business and IT processes
Manage operational and strategic views of the architecture that facilitate improved decision-making and accelerate the pace of change
Region/Affiliate Coordination and Relationship Management
Ensure strong and intimate relationship management throughout the region while driving enhanced teaming among IT leadership worldwide
Provide enterprise IT focus, alignment, and integration across regions/affiliates while maintaining region/affiliate agility
Actively lead and/or participate in business process improvement throughout the Americas region
IT Talent Management
Partner with HR to coordinate/monitor the annual talent management processes including objective development, performance assessment, calibration, skills development and leadership development
Communication, Training and Change Management
Responsible for all internal and external IT communication
Responsible for strategy/implementation of the following functions - Internal Communication, External Communication, Divisional Communication, Training Coordination and Delivery, Change Management Coordination

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications & Experience
15+ years of progressive IT program and project management experience with high-energy and passion for continuous improvement and change
5+ years leading an enterprise PMO within a large, global IT organization supporting core IT executives and business sponsors
Experience in portfolio strategy, planning, demand management, analysis implementation and executive management
Proven track record of creating, launching and managing global initiatives, programs and projects in a large and highly matrixed corporation
Demonstrated exceptional, executive presence and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage: cost management, documentation, performance management measures and metrics, risk management, quality control, change control, resource management and budgeting
Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management
