DIRECTOR OF INSIGHTS & ANALYTICS' PURPOSE:
Gannett's Marketing East Group Division, is seeking a Director of Insights & Analytics to be responsible for managing the development, execution and analysis of highly complex market research in support of audience and revenue development. Acquire and analyze primary and secondary consumer research to understand the reach and position of our products with targeted audiences. Deliver intelligent market information along with meaningful content to the sales department. Provide relevant information related to the advertiser’s business and competition. Effectively present research and intelligence information to internal audiences.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
Lead the analysis and provide recommendations using multiple research tools and sources to deliver requested data regarding market survey data, media reach and revenue, online metrics, economic indicators, competitive tracking and all other areas requested to advertising sales and circulation staff.
Supports client strategy managers and sales teams with key insights for use in customer sales presentations, incorporating market research data and marketing perspective.
Manages team of insight analysts (local and remote)
Client insights, market intelligence, market share
Client custom research and segment studies
Consumer audience insights
Support programs to grow revenue, increase aggregate audience, and increase online and mobile usage and revenues, by providing research and development and presentation material. Build presentations and presents synthesized insights and research to clients.
Collaborate with corporate marketing team, regional marketing team, local newsroom, local sales and marketing management, and finance to conduct market research and analysis.
Support new business plans and product changes by tracking the effectiveness of our products in serving our audiences.
React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS + ABILITIES:
Minimum 10 years experience and deep expertise in consumer and B2B market research, market analytics, and customer insights discovery
Rich experience in strategy and research consulting focused on large amounts of data and custom research
Degree in analytical modeling, statistics or market research a plus
Minimum 5 years experience leading, coaching and developing highly effective team required
Experience working in highly complex, matrixed and geographically dispersed organization preferred
Excellent project management abilities required
Client side market research experience a plus
Experience in business-to-business revenue generation environment, preferably within an industry leading marketing and sales organization
Additional experience in sales and/or sales management is preferable
Senior leadership level experience with track record in building and managing a highly effective team
Ability to motivate and manage remote team members if applicable
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
