Director - Global HR Technology Strategy - Arrow Electronics - Englewood


Job description

The Director, Global HR Technology Strategy will be responsible for the development and alignment of global HR technology strategy and platforms to support a global HR infrastructure. The position is responsible for managing the customer relationships across applications and venues, and developing the skills of the team to ensure that all projects and initiatives are communicated and managed to meet the business objectives. Transform and streamline the HRIT support model, provide leadership regarding all global HR technologies and oversee global HR technology project management, vendor relationships, and systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

To be successful in this role, the Director must:

Formulate the strategic global HR Technology plan to ensure the global human resources function is keeping apprised of current technologies to meet business support requirements.
Lead HR Technology due diligence related to mergers/acquisitions
Develop and manage the global HR technology budget.
Serve as the primary interface from global Human Resources with the company Information
Technology departments and their leadership teams.
Partner with HR generalists and specialists in the identification and definition of technology and desired functionality for program and process needs.
Provide assistance to the HR function in completing capital expenditure requests and IT project requests.
Support project managers in the execution of project plans.
Establish and uphold technology operating and performance standards (e.g. utilization, functionality, upgrades, maintenance, licenses, etc.)
Ensure technology infrastructure is efficiently and effectively maintained.
Review and approve IT project requests.
Inform and educate human resources leaders on the end use and role of technology for the HR function (trends, research, benchmarking), including facilitating relationships with outside technology vendors.
Manage, coach, and develop a team to enable individuals to reach their highest potential.
Demonstrate organizational management skills in a highly complex, fast growing technical environment including managing teams, budget accountability, HRIT project management and business planning.
Manage resources required to carry out the initiatives and programs in areas of responsibility.

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years management experience.
Minimum of 10 years progressively responsible HR experience with broad generalist exposure to all HR functional areas and HRIT technologies, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experience working with and influencing executive level IT or business unit management, including working closely in the development and implementation of large-scale systems.
Experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale technical projects from conception through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors; ability to analyze project needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive level presentations.
Strong project management and time management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads while effectively identifying and resolving problems in high visibility, high stress situations.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, translating technical requirements into functional applications and providing solutions.
Experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement desirable, involving broad-based information systems and utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change.
