Director - Finance - Product & IT - Bloomberg BNA - Arlington


Job description
Bloomberg BNA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bloomberg and publisher of legal and regulatory information, seeks a Director, Finance – Product and IT . This is an opportunity for a strategic thinking, dynamic, customer focused financial partner with an inquisitive business nature. This is a business facing role with strategic and operational responsibilities that will act as a liaison between the Business and Finance, and reports to the CFO of A&F, but is matrixed to the Business Leads.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gain a financial and operational understanding of the Business including its products/ services, customers, revenue, projects, employees, etc.
Provide financial leadership and guidance to the Business, Management and the A&F team
Provide strategic financial input when it comes to evaluating and proposing business plans/models for products, projects and/or process enhancements
Research and report on factors influencing business performance
Define and recommend measurements, strategies, and reporting using data to drive valuable business decisions
Assist in the compilation, planning and review of budgets/ forecasts, with focus on strategy and long-term sustainability
Ensure the coordinated and effective functioning of financial services such as Account Payable, Accruals, Reporting, Forecasting, etc.
Produce monthly analysis on the month-end financials. Go beyond the numbers; provide commentary on business insights to support the business-decision process, and perform "what-if" scenarios
Act as a liaison between the Business, Finance, and other internal and Bloomberg organizations

Desired Skills and Experience
10 years’ experience covering a broad range of financial activities including performance analysis, strategic planning, and CRM; strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and various financial analysis tools, such as discounted cash flows, activity-based management, and variance analysis; ability to analyze complex information and present the findings in a simple manner; excellent project management skills; demonstrated leadership skills in the areas of team building across departmental lines, dealing with ambiguity, interpersonal and political savvy, and polished written and verbal communication skills; strong cultural awareness to optimize effectiveness and management adoption; strong skills with Microsoft products (e.g., Excel, Word, Powerpoint); and ability to utilize a large integrated ERP/MRP computer system (e.g., Oracle, SAP). Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or economics. Advanced credentials such as a MBA or CPA or CFA preferred.
