Senior Director - Product Management - SAP - Palo Alto

As we develop our new strategic Internet of Things Enablement Services for the HANA Platform, the Business Information Technology (BIT) IoT Product Management team is currently seeking a Senior Director Product Manager with a focus on establishing strategic partnerships and business development across selected industry verticals in the North American region.
This strategic role provides an exciting opportunity to shape the business foundation for SAP's engagement in the Internet of Things market. You will achieve that by collaborating with cross-functional teams from product development, services, account management, marketing, partner management and our corporate strategy group. This position is a customer facing role and you will represent SAP in meetings and workshops.
Partner Management

Work actively with customers and partners to define product requirements, validate product priorities and articulate these requirements to the Development teams for acceptance into the product backlog.
Engage with the GTM and E&C organization to outline how our solution is best positioned to excite and encourage partners adoption, certification and engagement
Manage and interact with partners to ensure smooth implementation and effective adoption of our HANA based Internet of Things solution
Define and build a functional partnering program for device, telecom and software partners to build a market leading eco-system for SAP around Internet of Things Business Development
Position the solution in industries like Oil & Gas, Mining, Manufacturing or Transportation and Logistics
Create new IoT business opportunities for SAP in collaboration with the Account Executive and other stakeholders
Provide product specific answers in response to a customer or partner RFx Market and Customer Insight
Monitor market tendencies and technology trends
Shape and influence the product vision and roadmap
Become a recognized thought leader / trusted advisor among internal and external constituents (up to C level) based on product and customer knowledge

Measuring Sucess:
The success of this role will be measured in Success Map, but will be based on the following key aspects of the role:
Stakeholder Feedback (From the development team, GTM team, Marketing and Customers)
Partner Adoption (based on Devices connected)

Effective Communication

Desired Skills and Experience
Excellent academic qualification in Computer Science, or related Engineering field, MBA a plus
Strong software engineering and product management background, ideally combined with business development domain expertise
Understanding of Internet of Things market dynamics, industry players and solution stack a plus
Ideally, the candidate has a solid understanding of products like the SAP HANA platform,
Sybase ESP, and other products for Analytics, Visualization and Mobile Solutions
Experienced in working in virtual teams across development, services, strategy, product marketing and field teams
Excellent communication and presentation skills. Comfortable interfacing at the executive level.
Fluent in English
10+ years of experience in senior role of Business Development, Product Management or Partner Management, ideally with a focus on Cloud based solutions
