Director - Research and Analysis - Futurist - Skanska - New Jersey
Job description
Skanska USA Building is seeking a full-time Director of Research and Analysis; Futurist to join the Sales and Marketing team. This new position will be an integral part of advancing Skanska USA Building's success by improving our strategic focus and enhancing our knowledge base using market research and analytics, planning and futurist practices. The candidate will need to possess excellent research and analysis, communication and strategy development competencies. Assignments will vary from geographic market studies, to industry studies to client surveys. Goal is to keep leadership informed of trends and provide insights into industry changes. This will be a staff of one at the beginning with support from internal marketing and business development staff to external data research resources. The Director of Research and Analysis will interface with 25+ offices and general managers, the CEO and other senior leadership and additional Skanska business units. Travel will be required. This position can be based out of any Skanska USA Building office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support and advise company leadership and business development with market analysis, market surveys, corporate research, marketing strategies and tactics.
2. Conduct local and regional market studies. Identify trends, potential growth markets, clients, and project opportunities. Identify any external or internal factors that could affect targeted market(s) or strategies.
3. Generate reports and plans to summarize research, implications and strategies.
4. Research & study competitors, their capabilities, marketing, operational and commercial strategies, and culture.
5. Perform customer surveys, need analysis and perception studies as needed.
6. Attend economic development events, commercial real estate and industry conferences to discover trends.
7. Maintain relationships with industry researchers.
8. Support and maintain required databases, including the Skanska Sales Force customer relations system.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred
Demonstrated experience in doing research and analysis
Understanding of the real estate, design and construction industry a plus
