Director - Training - Learning and Development - O'Charley's - Nashville

Job description
Reporting to the Chief People Officer you will serve in a leadership role as “co-promoter of the culture” by partnering with Operations and Human Resources to develop, communicate, drive, and maintain organizational learning, development, and performance enhancement initiatives.

You will be responsible for the direction and coordination of the L&D Team to insure the strategic alignment of both ABRH-wide and O’Charley’s goals including all in-restaurant, opening units, management level and multi-unit level training and development programs. The position also requires broad based business acumen with a solid financial, bottom-line orientation.

Essential Functions Include:
Select, Train, and Develop L&D Team Members.
Plan and Direct the Development and Maintenance of all Training Programs.
On-Going Research and Benchmark with Best Practices.
Departmental Budgeting and Planning.

Desired Skills and Experience
BA or BS degree
10+ years of progressively responsible experience with personal accomplishments in Leadership, Training, and Development.
Restaurant Training experience in a multi-unit environment that employs a wide range of exempt and non-exempt employees within multiple states.
Experience working in full service environment with a full bar is required.
There is a preference for candidates who have worked on programs to increase liquor, beer & wine sales within the restaurant.
Restaurant franchise experiences a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Spanish language skills a plus.
Desire and flexibility to assume the roles of individual contributor, team player and leader simultaneously as the organization evolves.
Excellent stand-up, classroom teaching skills.
A personal record of matching and developing training systems to fit a unique, growing service-oriented culture.
Knowledge of Strategic Business Planning & Organizational Development.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time if required.
